  1. I think I may be banned from World Of Warplanes soon. Somehow it got installed on my new box, and I'm playing it. People do not know how to fly. I am getting 10 to 1 ratios at low tier. (which is as far as I got before I ditched it). Your rudder is your friend. (apparently a pro-tip).
  2. Fuckwits are still proposing blanket bans. Via executive fiat.. Batshit fuckwit wants to get people shot "Is a revolution what you want, because this is how you get one".
  3. A warning- If you run into a "Meplat" on a game like WoT, etc, who is acting like a kid, it well may be. I've decided to let my nieces and nephews play on my account (s), since their parents are very tight about 'net games. It's just a way for me to be "the evil uncle" while keeping the kids from going crazy with my Brother's credit card.
  4. Speaking of "Reverse" wait til you get the MBT70. Zero to "Plaid" in reverse, quite well.
  5. Start collecting old smoke detectors.
  6. Used to hoon around on horrible North Michigan fire roads in a 240/260/280Z, only time I got stuck was when I broadsided a pine tree.
  7. Odd question for this forum, but have any of you worked with Remington's laminate stocks? Need to refit/refinish one. Want to know what I am getting into.
  8. I'm sadly related to some. That I've owned firearms since I was old enough to legally do so, and have yet to shoot up a school (or ballpark full of congressmen) has yet to make a dent in the adamantine armor of ignorance they have deployed. One who is an avid deer hunter was horrified when he saw me showing a cousin my rather nice BYF42 P-38, proclaiming "Who knows how many that has killed!?". (Zero, as I bought it unfired). My reply was "In my hands? None, so far." and slid it back into it's holster. This guy is such a fudd he thought my 870 with extended mag tube was "a weapon of war", and had never seen nor handled an AR-15 of any kind til I had my absurd R6700CH MT out. (Great gun if you want a 14 pound AR that will cut ragged holes at 600 yards, and costs $300~$500 more than any comparable AR because of the fucking horse). Many are still horrified that I "worked in the war-profiteering industry" (As did their parents, my grandparents).
  9. "The decade it was ahead of is open to debate . Some critics say " it was the best car of the 1920's", whereas others say "No, it was the best car Weimar Germany ever made"..
  10. It's likely one of a number of 5.7mm uppers for the AR that were whipped up in the U.S., the magazine serves as a spent brass catcher.
  11. Lose the louvered rear window, and that thing looks damn good.
  12. Does it just come in blue and white with the odd gridded overlay, or is that just the pilot model? Also- Needs more aero/fins.
  13. We just got in a Cummins (lol) that for the most part is "made in China". I suggested we find an old Detroit 3-53 or 4-71, and cobble that to the generator, and while it would not "be green" it would likely run for a very, very long time, given the shitastic care given the previous engine (You have to work to kill a 3-53). It was shot down because a 3-53 (or any 2 stroke diesel ) is "not green" and the company in question gets fat tax bux for using tier 4 diesels. (Which are diesel engines with every conciveable contrivance bolted to them to ensure as swift a demise as possible. I am sure there is a "Grit Injector" incorporated in there).
  14. I am of the "Church of John Moses Browning". Guess what happens if you try to shoot us up. I also am a fan of Saint Barb. So expect indirect (and accurate) fire.
  15. Next tile, the trick is to "hatch down, and hope the seal holds". (It will, if I worked on it that is. ).
  16. Just dont ask about the first "gathering of eagles" in Arizona, where I lost all composure and was fawning over a proper BoB Hurri, and a Mk II Spit. To where I offered to escort them home, in exchange for 10.000 rounds of .303" De Wilde and 5000 rounds of Mk VI explosive Manstopper.
  17. Looks like Lake Michigan. Probably isin't. Russians I've met "visit" Michigan , and then leave. Poles seem to love it (and Czechs). I admit I miss parts of my birthland, but Arizona had far better ranges, and Kentucky has absurdly better fishing and hunting.
  18. Worked on a few bits of armor, some "semi famous". Like the Littlefield M4A3E2 (Albeit briefly) and their "Swiss Hetzer". Also did more than a little work on the M-18 Hellcat that appeared in that "The Void" movie that came out (and probably went direct to video) at the same time as "Fury". An anecdote from it is from my first time working on it. I was staff on a large MG shoot (Media/Photo/Technical(firearms)), and was trying to sleep on on a friday (the shoot starts noonish friday, we'd been there since thursday morning), and one of my friends asks "You said you were or are an aircraft mechanic, what do you know about Continental radials?".. (Now I'd heard that there was going to be a warbird or three showing up. So I semi lucidly said "hold on" and threw on my coveralls and boots. Only to find myself diagnosing a no start condition on a M-18. The gaggle there was about to pull the engine (The M-18 power plant can roll out on rails, but it's still a fucking shitshow, in the Arizona desert) when I showed up and said "Hold the fuck on, lets make sure it has spark, fuel, etc before fucking around with pulling engines".. Yes it had spark. Yes it had fuel, in one tank.. And you could hear the boost pump work. SO I had a guy sit and listen at each fuel filler, as I blew into the line from the mechanical pump (the boosters are centrifugal). The guy at the full tank heard nothing. The guy at the empty tank "heard waves". (he was like 12). "Your fuel selector is not working" I said. But the switch works (It's on the firewall under the turret) I was told. "No, the lever is working. (I hopped on the deck and looked down one of the air cooling grates and saw "Well, your linkage has popped off the selector. Hang on." One 5/8" socket, innumerable bolts, lots of hanging inverted while my beer baby tried to smother me, and a bit of .040" safety wire later, and the boost pump was delivering fuel to the engine, and the beastie ran. From then on (til 2015) I was the "defacto/default" driver and/or crew chief on that thing (and approved RKI and things big and tanky).
  19. Oh, a manually actuated Fosbery action, firing 12 gauge. Kind of neat, in a way. Personally I'm still looking for a Remington 31, that I could stuff a mag extension on, and thus commit the trifecta of heresies.
  20. They could not. Most of what we got in Kentucky (recently), was due to the NRA.
  21. An uncle had one, bought it when he came back from his second tour of Vietnam. It was... A very strange car. I remember that much.
  22. "Explosive powder". So, a sack of confectioner's sugar and a highway fusee?
