You know how some of the more lurid descriptions of the GMC Hummer EV accuse it of being the size and weight of a tank? Well, the US Army actually is buying one off-the-shelf for evaluation
QuoteA GM Defense representative that spoke with Overt Defense says that the Hummer EV it will be delivering to the Army is a production GMC Hummer Pickup Edition 1, following a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf purchase. The Hummer will not be modified in any manner for the Army’s evaluation.
According to the representative, the testing will “look at commercial capability that will inform the Electric Light Reconnaissance Vehicle (eLRV) Abbreviated Capabilities Development Document (A-CDD.)”. GM Defense has previously stated that it will use the Hummer EV’s frame and powertrain as the basis for its Electric Light Reconnaissance Vehicle prototype, saying in November 2021 that it planned to have an initial prototype built this year.

GDLS UK has announced that it will be providing verbal evidence to the Defence Select Committee on July 20. Also released ahead of the testimony is their written evidence: https://committees.parliament.uk/writtenevidence/37866/html/
QuoteAjax is developed in the UK to meet more than 1,000 requirements and provides the highest levels of survivability, lethality and mobility, along with the most modern and capable sensor suite and digital systems. Extensive trials and testing is highly progressed and provides the evidence that demonstrates the full capability: Ajax has completed over 60,000km of design proving trials and fired over 4,400 rounds of the CT40 cannon. Progressive training is underway for British Army crews using the advanced training simulators delivered to British Army training centres.
No other vehicle is available at this level of maturity to meet this requirement.
At this rate my suspicion is that in short order, this will be the case because nobody sane will want anything to do with British cavalry scout vehicle programs after this.

A bit more on mating a Stinger tube to a Javelin CLU
QuoteThe Stinger/Lightweight CLU integration kit (SLK) includes a digital compass and a datalink to a soldier’s tactical radio. This radio was an Army provided AN/PRC-163 (which has only been adopted for SOF) in tests, though Raytheon also claims the link is compatible with the current standard issue AN/PRC-152 and 148. This datalink allows the approximate location of a target aircraft or drone to be displayed within the Lightweight CLU display. Arrows inside the display guide the gunner to the proper direction of the contact, using data from an inclinometer and the digital compass. The standard brackets inside the LWCLU used for Javelin firing are also replaced by a colored circle that represents the seeker’s approximate acquisition arc. An estimated “quality of lock” is provided to the Stinger gunner via the color of the circle, with red, amber, and green representing no lock, partial lock, and good lock respectively. This allows the Stinger gunner to judge the quality of lock without wasting precious seconds of BCU activation. IFF interrogation is handled through the standard Stinger system, although IFF data can also be passed through the datalink from radars.

Queensland's cabinet hosting a meeting at Rheinmetall Defence Australia’s Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence on Monday. The state government signed a MoU that day reiterating its support for RM's KF41 bid.
Also the Department of Defence says that it has received the three prototypes of each contending IFV as of 13 February https://www.overtdefense.com/2021/02/19/queensland-government-reaffirms-backing-of-rheinmetall-land-400-phrase-3-bid/

Another result of track-phobia?
I was there for the presentation, Texelis apparently cares a whole deal about strategic maneuverability in the Sahel, so it had to be wheeled. But then the same presentation had some figure about engineer casualties that had a couple of Frenchmen upset at me on Twitter instead of the presenter, so I'm skeptical about their reasoning in general.

What I'm hearing now is that the US Army isn't going/wasn't going to evaluate both MPF candidates at the same time, so BAE Systems has time to get their MPF prototype sorted for shipping https://www.overtdefense.com/2021/02/17/bae-systems-respond-to-mobile-protected-firepower-trial-no-show-reports/

The sale to Croatia of ex-Israeli F-16s collapsed as the US government would not allow the resale of the aircraft following modifications by the Israelis.

Oh and it appears that a USMC F-35B has midaired with a KC-130J over southern California. F-35 pilot ejected, KC-130 belly landed in a field, everyone is mostly fine except for the F-35B. https://news.usni.org/2020/09/29/marine-f-35b-crashes-after-collision-with-kc-130-over-california-all-aircrew-recovered-safely

First quote is about me saying that I will have to do a lot more research. Second quote is about the community being a little bit more productive with their time rather than shitposting most of the time. It was about starting to write defence content of your very own like posting articles to newsites or having your own blog, but I had caught people yet again not reading properly the information with which they operate. Third quote is about me actually doing my research. It is you who put whatever meaning you wish to see. I had asked for sources, not to be told everything thing by thing. A community member did claim that you guys have vast quantities of information shortlisted for reference and that you know infinitely more than I do. However, when I had asked for any of you to come up even with one good book to read, nobody could offer anything. It speaks volumes. Yes, I know that nobody ought to be "nice". However, I still highlight how immature the behavior of a lot of people here are. A grown man should not behave as a small child, but some of you do. I'm questioning how such people could ever take any high ranking position within industry or military with such behavior as a professional environment rarely allows for such narcissism to exist. I'm quite frankly shocked by the behavior here as I do not interact with such impolite people.
I suppose you must be charmed enough to have never encountered such personalities at the top of any organizational hierarchies. Or Miltwitter.
More than a few of us have been published with proper bylines, covering subject matter more relevant to today than a 62 year old tank. We have been there and done that, the difference is that for the most part we weren't so certain of our own intellectual superiority just because we got published someplace for the first time.
