Shanahan wants in on the thread title.

    Quote

In high-level Pentagon meetings, Shanahan has heavily criticized Lockheed Martin’s handling of the production of the F-35 fighter jet, which is expected to cost more than $1 trillion over the life of the program, according to one of the two sources, a former senior Defense Department official who was present.

Shanahan, this official said, called the plane “f---ed up” and argued that Lockheed — which edged out Boeing to win the competition to build the plane in October 2001 — “doesn’t know how to run a program.”

“If it had gone to Boeing, it would be done much better,” Shanahan said, according to the former official

    .

As the Pentagon's No. 2, Shanahan repeatedly "dumped" on the F-35 in meetings, calling the program "unsustainable," and slammed Lockheed Martin's CEO, Marillyn Hewson, according to the second source, a former Trump administration official. "'The cost, the out-years, it's just too expensive, we're not gonna be able to sustain it,'" this person said, quoting Shanahan.

Shanahan's already managed to attract scrutiny for perceived bias

Gatwick Airport has been closed for the second day following somebody flying drones around the runway.

Tens of thousands of plane passengers face a second day of chaos with flights in and out of Gatwick cancelled after two drones were spotted flying over the airfield.

As of 9.45am on Thursday the runway remained closed and all flights were suspended after a Wednesday night of total mayhem sparked by the major security alert.

Twenty police units from two different forces are desperately searching for the suspects who have been flying drones over the airfield since about 9pm on Thursday.

Officers believe it is a "a deliberate act to disrupt the airport" but said "there are absolutely no indications to suggest this is terror related".

Two Saudi sisters living in Virginia  apply for political asylum in August, disappear, and then were just found dead on the banks of the Hudson River with their bodies taped together.

And because the Saudis don't care about not incriminating themselves anymore, the Embassy urged their mother to return to Saudi Arabia the day before their bodies were discovered, stating that the sisters had applied for asylum.
