  1. So are you going to post the pdf, or just tease us?
  2. Doesnt look like they’re on Mars, so I would guess otherwise
  3. I see another author coming up too: Janusz Skulski? Seems to make a lot of Imperial Japanese books. Worth looking into?
  4. Watch how fast the remaining EU will brand you as traitors or such if you leave and create a new (and/or better) northern EU.
  5. That is such an incredibly retarded location to place the mortar, just leave it off if it’s that big a problem, or place it in the external storage bins. I guess tank design has never been a strong suite of the British, though.
  6. What is that tube on the turret front? That’s not the mortar is it?
  7. Are the people of France realizing they aren’t actually free?
  8. I thought that at first too, but I came to the conclusion that they just didn’t mount the heavy armor around the tank. The British aren’t that stupid... I hope.
  9. The guns not shortened either? That L55 is gonna be a pain in a real street fight.
  10. Personally, my only concern with calling this thing a planet is if it has cleared its orbit of comparably sized objects (Sedna and Eris come to mind). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clearing_the_neighbourhood If it has, then: CHOO CHOO! All aboard the hype train!
  11. I don’t have any books from anyone; I’m looking to start collecting. I’ll look into Norman Friedman, though.
  12. Anyone know any good books on WWII ships? I'm looking for more technically oriented books, but the normal "history of X" will suffice.
  13. Let’s try to be a little nicer and/or forgiving. But if peasant could make the question clearer, that would be welcome.
  14. Since I like to repeatedly bash my head against the brick wall that is the suggestions section of WT, do these battleships sound decent for a battleship test, to see if WT (and the community) can handle such large ships? USS Nevada (1941) KMS Scharnhorst (1935) Parizhskaya Kommuna (1938) HMS Warspite (1937) Fuso (1938) Guilio Cesare (1937) Strasbourg (1939)
  15. I honestly haven't kept up with your recent Endwar posts, been really busy (far too busy, IMO) with finishing this semester. Last I remember, your were testing the AI in the skirmish mode, but I haven't sat down and read the posts since about halfway through page 8 (and all of page 9). Sorry for not keeping track But, I would prefer the American campaign, me being called "Aggressively American" once , and I'm sorta interested to see the abominations exceptionally well thought out modifications to the US vehicles (is it weird that I like the look of the "T-100 ogre" with the AA flamethrower and bustle mounted autocannons?). Although, it would be funny to see the euro-trash take over the (western) world. In relation to the second quote, I take an interest in RTS's, maybe because I'm terrible at them and/or appreciate the skill of those who are good at them (I usually turn into a spectator when playing RTS games, watching things move around and/or build, interact with other things, etc.). My favorite is Supreme Commander, and it's successor, Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance (stay away from SupCom 2 though), due to the massive scale, good graphics, and relative simplicity... and it was made in 2007 but still has a decent sized community (Forged Alliance Forever) that is still going 11 years later! It's a must have for RTS fans, but I cant do it justice, so I would have to recommend watching youtube videos on the game too see what it's all about. I personally watch Gyle Cast: Which is a Casting channel for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance Forever. This is a "short match" for SupCom, of only ~30 minutes (I choose a "short" video cause I know some of you are busy), but it should give an ok look into SupCom, especially the incredible size of the battlefields you fight on. And for posterity, here's one of the crazier games, at about 1 hour 10 minutes play time: It's a great game (and available on steam), and I would recommend it for any of the RTS players on here.
  16. Not really news or related, but does anyone know the anti air armaments for the Nevada or Pennsylvania Class battleships in 1941 (Pearl Harbor)? I see they had their 8x 5”/25 mark 10s, but I’m reading conflicting sources stating either 4x 3”/50 or 4x 1.1 inch quads, as well as maybe 8x 0.50cals (ambiguous writing). I’ve looked at some pictures, but I can’t make out too much on Nevada between 1935 and 1941, except the 5 inch mark 10s. Anyone have any info?
  17. This is what I was thinking, but was unsure if that was the best way. Thank you.
  18. Welcome to SH! No, I’ve never heard of the Sigma class frigate. *googles* ok, new ship. Not what I was looking for, I was thinking of modeling a DD from WWII; I’m partial to the Italian Soldati class.
  19. Not 100% sure where to put this, so this is going to the naval section for now. So, I’ve decided to challenge myself, give me something to do, and enhance my skills with Autodesk Inventor. As you can guess, I want to model a warship, perhaps a destroyer, or something of comparable size. Only problem is: the hull. How on earth would I model this? Would I make the general shape, then a butt load of fillets? Or maybe cut the hull into segments and loft each segment, then constrain them end to end? I think I will have a similar problem with the smoke stack, but the hull is larger and has more curves. Any suggestions or advice? Thank you in advance.
  20. Slight necro (sorry), but I do have to wonder just how much history or “great finds” have been simply overlooked: like in the article, the guy saw the mast of the Terror but forgot about it when he got home. Just how many times has something amazing like ancient tombs, treasure, or sites have been ignored by people who stumbled upon it, didn’t know what it was, and forgot about it when they went to sleep? ... things that keep me up at night.
  21. The “allies” didn’t blame this chem attack on Assad again, and bomb some random ammo depots?
  22. Being a cynical bastard, does this mean the Ajax will be cancelled and the Warrior LEP be forced to continue? That seems like something the British MoD would do...
  23. You vs. the guy she told you not to worry about
