Had the fantastic opportunity to PMCS, boresight, and road test a M1A2 SEPv3 from 4-9 CAV at Ft. Hood today.

Many images:
I can confirm the photo I posted previously that the turret weight of the SEPv3 31.5 tons (28.6 metric tons). I have a photo of the name plate but I haven't removed the serial numbers to upload it.
I also made an extremely rough estimation of the turret armor LOS using my boot and then measuring my boot after (I didn't have a measuring tape on the tank nor did I want to piss off the crew). Using this very rough method I found the armor to be at least 1150mm LOS including the backplate.
I may be able to get back on a SEPv3 next Monday.

Indeed
Ole standard loadout for T72/90 had ammo all over , hard not to hit any in case of penetration. Literaly charges and rounds everywhere .Not to mention the extra ammo is actually for reloading into carusel so its used last.

The latest iteration of Merkava is called Mark 4 Model 400, which has a newer C2 system and enchaned TROPHY (you can tell by the added optical sensor). kinda interesting because although MK 4 had seen many modifications and improvements throughout the years this is IMO the first time that the IDF officially names a new Mark 4 version

It is not an autoloader, but a semi-automatic ammo rack. The ammunition is stored in a separate compartment, the gunner or loader selects the desired type of round, then the mechanism pushed the round into the crew compartment, where the loader takes it. Similar system is also used on Merkava 4.
