AC system. Figure 1.2. The band shelf in cross section from the side. Kylare = Cooler 4.2 Exhaust and cooling systems The exhaust system enters the belt shelf adjacent to the engine compartment, then the exhaust pipes follow the tape shelf along a channel all the way back where it finally opens. The exhaust pipes have a temperature at about 550 ° C and is covered with insulation. The temperature in the estuary is about 500 ° C. The operating system for air cooling in the belt shelf is a fan at the back that draws air away the engine compartment and through the entire belt rack. The flow is currently about 230 l / s. The engine cooling is a system with cooling water that after passing out of the engine passes along the tape shelf. The temperature of the cooling water is approximately 100 ° C. The engine air cooling system is located in the front of the engine compartment and the air intake is on top the hood. When the air is filtered, debris and particles that must be blown away, the fan gets stuck who performs that work is called Scavenger and blows out the unclean air on the right side of the carriage. 6. I'm aware. Just theorising how the article came to this conclusion.
  7. Rheinmetall – MBT 130 mm Gun fitted to Challenger 2 LEP Also shows a larger armour array fitted to the turret. Not sure if this is for LEP or RBSL looking to export or to increase scope of LEP: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Challenger 2 ATDU - Early 90's --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- British Companies to Manufacture Military Vehicles in Algeria? An editorial in a Spanish newspaper mentions that British companies are setting up to manufacture military vehicles in Algeria. I haven't heard anything about this is British news and Algeria seems focused on buying German (Fuchs-2, Boxer, Lynx 41? Gladius kit). I wonder if this is Rheinmetall/KMW working through RBSL/WFEL/others to avoid German/EU regulations? https://www.elespanol.com/reportajes/20200719/mohamed-vi-reino-unido-desafia-espana-marroqui/506199908_0.html

  11. I've seen it mentioned that "missile" could simply mean a tank round projectile. In English a missile is "an object which is forcibly propelled at a target, either by hand or from a mechanical weapon". However the CR2 Streetfighter concept with Brimstone launcher shows the Army is interested in under-heavy-armour ATGM ability.
  12. https://committees.parliament.uk/oralevidence/652/pdf/ Army apparently wants CR2 to fire gun-launched ATGM and have significantly enhanced protection.
  13. Pretty sure Challenger 2 uses a modified FCS from the M1A2.
  14. UK to reassess Ajax programme https://www.janes.com/defence-news/news-detail/29cf9003-fcc5-4c72-af61-e7a41a7aa603 The rumour is that the Spanish built vehicles have shocking quality control (including hull welds) resulting in the Welsh facility having to disassemble, fix, reassemble and then re-validate each unit. Santa Bárbara recently had problems with the Piranha V-based Dragon 8x8 and a Spanish defence magazine says the VCZAP Castor (ASCOD-Pizarro engineering variant) prototype is overweight and delayed. Despite this Desider Magazine reports that the first 2 rebuilt Ares have been accepted for service: Success as AJAX completes acceptance testing https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/889347/June-desider-online.pdf
