  1. Leopard 2PL is delayed because some Polish companies weren't ready to produce so many components to Leopard. But now the delay is probably also the Rheinmetall's fault. But on the other hand Leopard 2PL and Polish modernization of Leopard 2A5 have the purpose to test Polish industry and to be honest this is the first part of NCP (New Main Battle Tank) purchase by Polish Army.
  2. The Polish program and MGCS are the one and the same. Rheinmetall offers the cooperation with Polish industry within MGCS program.
  3. Personally I think you have forgotten about T-72 and PT-91 tanks. And Rheinmetall tank will be their replacement, not Leopard's.
  4. Leopard 2 is known in Poland, Leclerc not. The only known things about the tank: - G2G between Polish and German government (the talks have been started roughly at the beginning of this year but it is still not signed) - production in Poland (Bumar-Labedy) starting between 2027 and 2030 (according to PGZ) - between 400 and 800 tanks only for Polish Armed Forces - 130 mm Rheinmetall's smoothbore gun as main armament - probably with production in Poland - high degree of "polonization", including all the rights to the tank (even in this situation Rheinmetall wants to be claimed as a Polish company) - the tank will be offered by Rheinmetall in Germany as a Leopard 2 replacement and the counteroffer to KNDS tank.
  5. The joint Rheinmetall and PGZ offer about the new tank is currently in the Polish MoD and MoD considers it very seriously. KMW on the other hand offers the reboot of Leopard 2 production in Poland. And MGCS program is probably not only KNDS program.
  6. I don't know if it suits better to this or MGCS' thread. I've found that MTU started (or would start) to develop new, 1325 kW version of MT 883 engine. But if this engine reaches a prototype or production status, it has to be paired with HSWL 354 or another, brand new transmission in powerpack.
  7. My light tank's status I've realized that classic turret had been a waste of time and I've replaced it with low-profile turret. I'm afraid that I'll have no time to end both tanks so I think to use the same turret on the light and also on the medium tank.
  8. Bustle ammo rack in my classic turret (version 1) - can be loaded up to 30 or 36 95mm rounds. The version 2 will have a space for 80mm rounds. My classic turret has two ammo racks in its bustle.
  9. About the KAPS Hyundai reps told us at MSPO that only soft-kill sensors were operational at the moment. Hard-kill is still under development.
  10. Isn't the APFSDS round the late 50s technology? More, I think it's not possible to load 200 mm round to 120 mm gun or to create 50:1 L/D steel rod
  11. The another thing - quite short (2' of height) welded turret with two isolated ammo racks
  12. My baby slowly starts to live - one of two versions of the light tank Length: 18' 6" Width: 10' Height: 5' 6 1/4" + 1' 6" ground clearance + currently unknown height of the turret Engine: It is going to be 27L 340 - 410 HP (250 - 310 kW) V12 compact engine (Liberty L-12 derivative)
  13. The most interesting is that H.Cegielski get to know from me about the problems with K2 powerpack and the fact that it is and will be made in Germany More over Hyundai offered that H.Cegielski can 'polonize' K2 tank in 100% and they didn't tell H.Cegielski about the problems with K2 and German involvement in its production Also H.Cegielski don't know about the unofficial offer from Rheinmetall about the production of new generation tank in Poland. But on the other hand BAE Systems offers M88A2 Hercules for Polish Army as a Bergepanzer 2 replacement.
  14. What about aluminium, Doron and enamel? And what about using bolts to make spaced armor?
  15. Probably not only Mi-24. LEONARDO believes that PZL W-3 can be also Spike ER's carrier. And afterwards these ATGMs would be used on future helicopters of Polish Army and (maybe) future tank destroyers.
  16. The most interesting thing. Two main rivals in the Maluku Islands using the same soft-kill APS on their tanks.
  17. Leopard 2PL won't be unveiled at MSPO 2018. As opposed to two versions of PT-91M2 and LOTR Kleszcz.
