  1. You're kind of moving the goalposts, though. You originally said that the US never mounted an autoloader to a tank because of fears over mechanical failure.
  2. Several US designs have featured autoloaders, most notably the M8 Ridgeway, which was type-classified before being budgeted out. The only thing we really know about the Abrams replacement project for now is that GDLS has floated the idea of a 55 ton tank with a variety of different turrets that can be exchanged. https://defensemaven.io/warriormaven/land/special-report-army-analyzes-detailed-plans-for-future-tank-McrsL3rfUEKEkhJDJ3Lm0Q/
  3. https://www.defensenews.com/newsletters/tv-next-episode/2019/07/29/replacing-the-bradley/ General Coffman mentions "at least 5" companies are providing something for OMFV. We know about Raytheon, GDLS, and Hanwha so far...
  4. The M109A7 with the ERCA and Auto-loader is to be designated XM1299: https://ndiastorage.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/ndia/2019/armament/Musgrave.pdf
  5. The variant of the Abrams for Taiwan, Previously known as the M1A2X, is now the M1A2T: https://www.dsca.mil/major-arms-sales/taipei-economic-and-cultural-representative-office-united-states-tecro-m1a2t-abrams
  6. Any reason that the Borsuk IFV wasn't considered for this role? Having the tank destroyer and IFV on the same basic platform seems like the best idea.
  7. I think they need to get rid of the PT-91 and T-72M1s before reserving any of their Leopards.
  8. Greece is (supposedly) selling off some of their Leopard 2A4s and Cyprus is interested: https://defence-point.com/2019/03/05/cyprus-courts-greek-leopard-1a4s/
  9. https://www.iss.europa.eu/sites/default/files/EUISSFiles/occ023.pdf
  10. BAE is out of NGCV: https://www.defensenews.com/land/2019/06/10/major-combat-vehicle-player-wont-participate-in-us-armys-optionally-manned-fighting-vehicle-competition/ Not very surprising, the CV-90 wasn't a strong bid compared to the other players.
  11. If only we had a best in class system that was already designed and mostly ready for production
  12. The picture is from a company called Modeled horizons. They do a lot of work for defense contractors, especially BAE Systems. On their site, they refer to it as "CAT" but I couldn't find any more info than that.
  13. Some sort of SHORAD(?) variant on the XM1200 FCS chassis. Any more info would be appreciated
  14. US is listed as a potential export partner. Looks like the AS-21 is competing for NGCV then?
  15. Australia has revived their Self-Propelled Artillery program: https://www.defenceconnect.com.au/land-amphibious/4041-following-the-leader-govt-announces-local-sph-build-labor-agrees?utm_source=DefenceConnect&utm_campaign=15_05_19&utm_medium=email&utm_content=1 Favorite seems to be the K-9, but maybe recent wins for Rheinmetall could give the PZH-2000 a chance?
  16. Thailand is buying Strykers: https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/security/1676940/army-seals-deal-to-buy-us-armour
  17. I think it's Textron doing the V-280, Boeing is offering the SB-1.
  18. UK is considering a new SPG: https://www.janes.com/article/87623/uk-releases-rfi-for-new-self-propelled-howitzer' Boxer with Donar turret, maybe?
