Czech IFV acquisition update. As I wrote last time the MOD sent a letter to all bidders asking them whether they are willing to accept new conditions of the tender. Now we know the result. One answered yes, two answered no. As a result the tender is canceled and the IFVs will be bought in direct government-government deal. 
 
Now a bit of details.
Rheinmetall refused the new conditions but also refused to comment. 
GDELS refused the new conditions saying that the issue for them is a requierement to produce the vehicles in VOP company (state controlled service company). They are afraid that the company is not able to run such complex project (and they are likely correct). They want to work with CSG instead (CSG is for sure capable enough). However GDELS agreed to keep the original program price tag. 
BAE agreed (including the price) and added an offer to create a so called battle laboratory in Czechia which would work on development of future combat vehicles based on the actual combat experience of all CV90 users. 
 
Now a bit of other things which meanwhile surfaced. According to the audit of the new MOD one bidder's offer exceeded the price tag and didn't include all required documentation. Most likely it's the case of Rheinmetall (considering GDELS and BAE keep publicly claiming to keep the original price). The previous MOD instead of kicking this bidder out called all the offers inadequate and basically threw the hot potato on the new government. If we go back in history (you can find it in my posts) some two years ago or so the vice-prime minister (and minister of industry and trade) tried to change the tender conditions. Few weeks later a letter from Rheinmetall to the prime minister was leaked to the media and it included the very same changes proposed by the vice-minister before. It seems to me (now it's just my personal understanding) that the prime minister (and possibly also the president) pushed the MOD to somehow keep Rheinmetall in the competition but we also know that the military unofficially selected CV90 as the one they want. The result is the mess we are in now.

That's one of the three known. It's pretty clear that Russia don't miss a chance to show every single western piece of equipment they manage to get their hand on, yet there is nearly none.

there is difference between RPG-7 and AT-4/CG - fuse + AT-4 has support ring in nose part, so you can't shortcut fuse and damage cone, grenade will simply work

Long time no see. Today, the Polish MoD signed a contract for 341 ZSSW-30 turrets. The first production batch is composed of 70x ZSSW-30 turrets, which are to be fitted to Rosomak wheeled IFVs. The batches to follow are meant to incorporate upgrades/modifications based on feedback from the armed forces. Contract for the 70x turrets is worth around 367 mln. $
