Beer got a reaction from Rico in The Leopard 2 Thread
Yes, the first batch which is going to be donated by the German government is from Rheinmetall stocks. They are in fact ex-Swiss Pz 87 (possibly with those curious silencers still installed). Also the ammo and spare parts shall come from Rheinmetall.
For the rest of the tanks it was first said these wpuld be 2A7+ and that even the initial batch would be rebuilt into A7+ (which means only turret skelet would be kept of the original Pz 87). Now the MOD released some ambiguous words which seem to make an impression that the decision was not yet made but I think that's just a smoke screen.

Not sure if it was stated here already, but C. G. Haenel's lawsuit was dismissed, thus the planned purchase of the HK416A8 as part of German Army's G36 replacement program can move forward.

More details about the Czech Leopard 2 acquistion were presented in the parlamentary defence comitee meeting.
The target is to transform our WP-style tank battallion into a NATO-style battallion, i.e. increase the number of companies from 3 to 4 and also increase the number of vehicles per company. A fifth company is planned for the so called active reserve corps (they have a company of T-72M1 now).
Altogether it means that the target number is 58 tanks + 15 support vehicles on tank chassis (ARV, AEV, bridge layers).
After all it's not a lot of tanks but it's almost double to what we have now.

Some news about the Czech infamous IFV tender. The new government is trying to make all the bidders agree to the new terms of the competition - no change in technical requirements or quantity, just legal stuff such as 'voluntary' giving up damage compensations in case of tender cancelation etc. Another point is that they try to force them to stick with the original price limit. It looks like it's sort of damage control in case of (very probable) cancelation of the tender in such a way that it would not lead to lawsuits from the bidders.
IMHO the IFV will be bought after all in a simple direct government - government contract.
Anyway the further destiny of the tender shall be known by the end of August.

Hyundai Rotem's and Hanwha Defense's booth at the recent 2022 Advanced Defense Industry Exhibition which happened in Daejeon, at the Daejeon Convention Center on the 15th.
Biggest thing worth noting is the AS21 variant vehicles showcased with a decently clear picture of the K-MPF being seen.
The Next Generation Wheeled Fighting Vehicle also made a reappearance
A Hydrogen Fuel Cell concept model
Sadly no clearer photos of a lot of the stuff at Hyundai Rotem's booth have been uploaded or it's paywalled. I will keep an eye out if anything more pops up.

That does not make any sense. 30 G is by 4 orders of magnitude less than how standard cannon munition accelerates. In simplified linear case a 1750 m/s muzzle speed from 120/L52 travels the barrel distance of 6,24 meters in 0,007 seconds which results into about 24500 G.
For your information 100 G is a limit acceleration which is considered survivable for human brain in a crash scenario (head vs. windshield, head vs. solid floor etc.), i.e. roughly an acceleration of a thing falling from 2 meters on a solid ground.

Comes mostly from Argentinian slang, its more commonly used as an insult to someone who is lazy, doesn´t work, doesn´t take care of his responsibilities (because presumably he is too busy jerking off).

Sorry for off-topic but I immediatelly recalled two cars - Mitsubishi Pajero (in Spanish it means someone who jerks off) and Proton Jebat (in Slovak and Czech it means fuck)

I find this another classic example of someone trying real hard to come up with a name and not thinking for two seconds about how Americans are likely to pronounce it.

I was wondering about what the smart block module was since there wasn't any info in the video. Looks like it's a build your own GaN X-band AESA. Customers can buy the pre-built module blocks and combine them to the required size/output needed.

An onboard video compilation from Ukrainean Su-25 pilots from combat. Launching various rockets including probably S-24 heavy ones, dropping bombs, dodging the AD. Probably the most interesting thing is that the RWR indicator is often visible and it's most of the time flashing like crazy.
And from the other side what flying low also means.
