TEM is a Russian project of Transport module with nuclear reactor as source of energy for 4 ion engines, planned to be used as a space towing vehicle.

Reactor is located on a tip of this space vehicle, solar panels-looking parts in the middle are cooling system and in the end there is engine module.

And looks like this is not just project that exist in CGI, recent photos are showing parts of the TEM being assembled. Although it is likely that this is not a vehicle that will fly to space, but a testing rig.

Massive fighting started along most of the Nagorno Karabakh border. The situation looks very serious as both Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia declared martial law and started general mobilisation.

So far we have a looot of footage of destroyed Azeri armor and alleged wreck of an Azeri helicopter. In the morning Armenia admited 10 fallen soldiers. Azerbaijan claims it destroyed many OSA AA systems. Armenia claims (besides of the clear footage) to shot down another helicopter nad three UAVs.

Link from otvaga thread about Syrian conflict. More footage of Hezbollah/Al-Muqowama operations near Al-Quseir.

After taking hill and crossing river Al-Muqowama started operation to clear left side of the river and secure this area for next step. After it was done, they pushed to southern outskirts of Al-Quseir.

Situation around Al-Quseir, villages marked with different colors to show different religious groups.

Maps showing logistical importance of Al-Quseir - it is a point of crossing of paths/roads to different areas of Syria. On map here it shows Idlib, Hama, Aleppo provinces.

    Start of operation

Moving to other side of the river, south of Al-Quseir.

After clearing southern outskirts was done Al-Muqowama started operation to assault Al-Quseir. First step was to take wastewater treatment plant SW from the city.

Situation after operation was done, but before assault of Al-Quseir town.

Czech MOD selected Spyder-MR as the new AD system replacing the old (albeit somewhat modernized) 2K12 Kub. MOD will buy four batteries installed on Tatra 815-7 vehicles. It's quite a logical selection after the purchase of the Elta EL/M-2084 MADR radars and considering the already existing integration of the system for Tatra vehicles.

Also if we go back to the AI driver I think that first it will be implemented as working just in a "follow the leader" mode and only for the auxiliary vehicles as Looser pointed out (feeding ammo and other supplies seems to be the first candidate for an automated task).

It will take a very long time for the AI to reliably solve many tasks which are quite simple for the humans - such as "Can I go through that green fence?" or "Will that ancient wall made of laid stones stop my tank?"

I bet that in this decade there is no self-driving MBT except for maybe very special cases used in extremely risky situations (optionally manned vehicle used without the crew in urban combat could be a possibility). But even in such cases I think that they will be rather driven by a driver sitting outside the vehicle and not by AI.

Before the AI is mastered in the air I seriously can't see any chance of success on the ground. The air is waaaaay easier to solve and we are not yet in the point where AI is able of more than very simple tasks in a completely free environment.

New mine-clearing vehicle on BMP-3 chassis was spotted during Kavkaz 2020 exercises.

Looks like it can carry even more rockets than 5, judging by numbers of rockets on left side of the launcher (from vehicle pov). It also have electronic/magnetic mine clearing system on the front, AFAIK. Also, it have something that looks like APS, but i don't see radars.

All three contenders for the Czech IFV tender shall have been displayed during the NATO days in Ostrava (this year's strange edition without spectatos). In the end CV90 didn't appear at all, Lynx was only on static display and only ASCOD was shown driving. Due to the fact that there were no spectators it's also difficult to find any photos or videos.

This is finally the ASCOD with the right MT30-MK2 turret.

Beer reacted to Monochromelody in The powerpack and transmission description of MBT Al-Khalid
The Al Khalid derived from Norinco Type 90IIM MBT. It was in the early 90s, when India started to test their Arjun MBT. Pakistanis looked for a MBT design that could be produced by herself.
Norinco provided their own Type 90IIM prototype, this is an MBT design which comprised many Western components, such as engine and transmission.

    There were 4 prototypes for Al-Khalid development, namely P1, P2, P3 and P4.
P1 has a Chinese tank diesel engine with ZF LSG3000 transmission.
P2 has a British Perkins CV12 Condor diesel engine with French SESM ESM500 transmission.
P3 has a Ukrainian KMDB 6TD-2 2-cycle boxer engine with its own twin planetary gearbox.
P4 has a German MB871 engine with ZF LSG3000 transmission, similar to South Korean K1 MBT.

Norinco and Pakistanis planned to adopt one of the Western powerpack at first, but due to CoCom (Coordinating Committee for Export to Communist Countries) restrictions, China is under embargo, which means China would not import weapons form Western countries. Obviously P3 powerplant would be the only choice. All those descriptions on the internet about ESM500 in Al-Khalid is fatally wrong.

The Al-Khalid pre-production batch and production version all equipped with Ukrainian KMDB 6TD-2 powerpack.
It is an extremely compact design, the engine laid transversely in engine room, twin planetary gearboxes connect to both left and right end. The 6TD-2 has two crankshafts: the front one drives the mechanical supercharger, while the rear one drives the gearboxes. The cooling system covering the whole engine room, the engine itself has no mechanical connection to the cooling system, and the cooling system doesn't need mechanical drive. The cooling system based on a unique principle: exhaust gas driven ejector. The exhaust gas from the engine is injected through the outlet ducting, produce a low pressure in the outlet side, that will suck in cold air from the inlet side. This principle is also used in the T-64, T-80UD and T-84, but as far as I know, Swedish Ikv 91 is the only western tank that have similar cooling principle.

As a result, the total length of powerpack is significantly shortened, much more shorter than the European powerpack mentioned above. This leads to a spare storage room between the fighting compartment and the engine compartment. This storage is for extra ammunition and fuel, when turret points 3 or 9 o'clock, the top cover of the storage could be opened from outside, containing 10 rounds for main gun, with projectiles on the outsides, semi-combustible charges on the inside.
The data table from HIT also describe the ammunition capacity as 39+10, means that 22 ready rounds in the T-72 type carousel autoloader, 17 backup rounds scatter around the fighting compartment, and extra 10 rounds could be carried in the storage room.

The driver of Al-Khalid control the vehicle via steering wheel and an automatic gear control box. The steering wheel and gear control box send electrical signals to the computer, then computer control the hydraulic servo actuator to perform engage and disengage of brakes and clutches, making steering and gear changes, as well as adjusting the speed and torque of the engine.

Mechanically the gearboxes are nearly the same as T-64s and T-72s, but have different side reducer unit. The KMDB side reducer unit is designed as a secondary gearbox, acting like a forward-reverse selector. When both reducers were put into reverse, the vehicle can reverse using the normal forward ranges. From 1st gear to 4th gear, all could be used as high speed reverse, and that's why KMDB said this is a 7F4R gearbox system. And if only one reducer was put into reverse, the track will be driving in opposites direction, causing the vehicle turns within its tracks, a.k.a. pivot steer or center steer. T-84 also applied this driving and steering system.

The advantages of Al-Khalid's powerpack is the versatility: all 3 types of MBT in the Pakistanis arsenal, T-80UD, T-84, Al-Khalid, share the same engine and gearbox.

Sorry to jump into the discussion but this is outright silly. It's based on the believe that the schematics are perfectly correct in details they are not supposed to represent accurately. Anyway the general rule is that the only valid value from any drawing is the one with an explicit dimension - and that applies twice as much for any drawing from the old times when 2D was not yet simply generated from 3D by software.
