    Long time lurker here.

This site goes fairly in depth into the way stealth works while still being, relatively, simple to understand.

the US has actually had 4 operational manned stealth aircraft. The F-117, F-22, B-2, and F-35. As for why nobody else has developed any until recently (I do believe that Chinas J-20 is a proper stealth fighter), it largely comes down to circumstance. There were only 2 major players dominating the world stage that likely had, or could have had, both the resources and technology to develop stealth. Those being the US and the Soviet Union. The US got an early lead and was able to keep the program very well hidden. The stealth aircraft at the time were also a massive pain in the ass to develop and maintain, so it really wasn’t reasonable for other countries to try and develop. Not even the US produced very many during this time period (the Cold War). Europe probably could have come up with their own if they all came together for it, but there wasn’t a massive need to do so. This is assuming they were even aware of the possibility prior to the disclosure of the F-117. The USSR tried to catch up, but it failed  and eventually collapsed. With the USSR gone and Russia in economic turmoil the possibility of them developing stealth ceased to exist, and Europe was no longer under military threat. Because of this they had no reason to invest a ton of money and resources to develop and produce stealth. The us had already been developing new stealth aircraft prior to the end of the Cold War, so they kept up those programs afterwards. Albeit they did dramatically reduce the number they produced. It wasn’t until much more recently that Russia started beefing up its military, and China started to grow into a capable power. Even then much of Europe was involved in the F-35 program and purchased many aircraft, so they had their stealth needs meet with them. Now that China has developed stealth, and Europe has decided to increase defense spending, we are finally seeing other nations starting their own stealth programs.

that was a bit long winded, wasn’t it?

Ukraine released alleged leaked documents from Russian 1st guards tank army concerning unit losses as of 15th March. The documents seems to be legit.

It shows rather low number of casualties in comparison with absolutely stunning vehicle losses. I remember the 1st GTA lost huge number of vehicles in its initial push just being stuck in mud or running out of fuel which is confirmed by the document.

Anyway the total number of casualties after 3 weeks of fighting was 61 KIA, 209 WIA, 44 MIA, 96 POW. Altogether 410.

The number of lost tanks per unit during the same period. Overal it's 125 tanks.
    1st tank regiment, 2nd motorrifle division: 45 T-72B3 obr.2016 (of 93!)
    12th tank regiment, 4th guards tank division: 18 T-80U
    13th tank regiment, 4th guards tank division: 47 T-80UE (of 83!)
    423rd motorrifle regiment, 4th guards tank division: 6 T-80BV
    27th motorized rifle brigade: 9 T-90A

This status is from just days before another defeat in the battle of Trostianec which caused another large losses followed by retreat from the whole Sumy and Chernigiv regions. Also if we go by the number of T-80U/UE tanks from this time period showed on Oryx's blog we can see that the actual number of losses is even higher than listed by him.

Today our MOD released an official statement about the deal. You can find it here in Czech. In short it differs from the previously posted rumors only in details. The deal shall be signed this summer.

    - 14 Leopard 2A4 + 1 Buffel for free, to be deliverd in half a year, to be modernized to 2A7+ level later
    - up to 50 new Leopard 2A7+ (including specialized variants) on commercial contract, to be delivered "shortly afterwards"

All tanks to be ordered in cooperation with German MOD under the same or very similar conditions (including price) with Czech industry involvement in deliveries of both Czech and German tanks (new production line?). Details of that are not available atm.

The MOD also commented on the option to buy Abrams. They said they were interested but the US offered a delivery date only after 2030.

Some time ago Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW) signed a cooperation agreement with Tatra. The subject of the contract is the design and delivery of a new 4x4 vehicle with complete technical documentation enabling the production of the vehicle in Poland. In my humble opinion the vehicle will use many elements from Patriot II and T 815-7 chassis, whilst being a new product and (from the legal perspective) a different one than Patriot II.

There is something leaking about the Czech-German deal I mentioned in another thread. Nothing official so take it with a grain of salt.

The deal is said to consist of
    - 20 Leopard 2A4 for free
    - 40 Leopard 2A7+ on commercial contract
    - some recovery and engineering vehicles

The Leo 2A4 shall be used for initial transition period and training before the newly built 2A7+ arrive. After that the A4 will be probably modernized.

If it goes through it may also affect the already started project for another upgrade of our 30 T-72M4 tanks which shall consist mainly of a new FCS and optics (it is still in quotation phase).

The vehicle is Patriot II from Excalibur Army using Tatra chassis. Here you can find more about the vehicle.

EDIT: I can see that it's also bing advertised as Husar made by Polish Stalowa Wola. Anyway it's the same vehicle probably developed in joint venture.

I'm in cope mode, but hell, this is too far.

At our discord i told few times that Oryx list is good-ish indication of scale of losses. Individually there can be mistakes, double counts, and other shit like that. Hell, he even counts T-64s as Russian losses, so section on BMP-1 and -2 losses should have bunch of DPR/LPR vics in them, which are not Russian army losses.

For record, first time i see someone claiming that painting Z is some sort of standart affair for UAF. Swarming around with phones and doing selfies/tik toks is frequent-ish, so you get one vehicle photographed and video'ed from many angles, but i'm didn't saw a specific vehicle prooved to be UAF AFV lost in fight with Z painted over it to make it 'Russian" casualty.

French army is apparently also changing it's infantry camo (delivery in 2024) with an (almost) omni-environment pattern. Base camo will be used for woodland/grass/urban/desert/mountain and a variant of the same pattern will be used for an all snow environment. Apparently they focused a lot on how a change in lightning will modify how the eye perceive the pattern :

Same base color as the new Scorpion camo for the vehicles with the possibility to add active camo on top of it in the future (for infantry that may be a bit optimistic) :

Seems everybody is going toward an unique camouflage pattern.

A few days ago Polish MOD signed a deal with one of our companies, for the delivery of reconnaissance and strike drones. Said UAVs will form the backbone of the so-called "Gladius" system https://tvn24.pl/tvn24-news-in-english/poland-purchases-more-unmanned-search-and-strike-drone-systems-5701114. "Gladius" will be presumably based on WB Group W2MPIR system https://defence24.com/w2mpir-a2ad-elimination-tool-by-the-wb-group although with some modifications and tailoring to meet the needs of MOD. What is interesting, is that it will be fielded under the command of our artillery regiments, with its main goal being to strike high value and temporarily available targets while providing accurate information for artillery systems.
