I think there were enough unconventional designs in the Texas and California contests.
-
Will there ever be another "modern" MBT contest?

Yes, also the shape of the UFP is changed. Previously it was a flat surfice and now it has an extra angle. Also of note is that the older Epokha module is mounted and no APS is component visible.
The APS tubes are under the cloth on top of the hull.
I also have my doubts that they will stick with the 30mm 2A42, they probably have just not fully developed the Epokha turret.

Artillery rounds were in two vertical carousels in the hull on either side of the breech. The turret bustle contained the propellant charges, but those storage cylinders were not motorized (not a bustle cassette autoloader like the Meggitt model or the one currently used in the XM1299).
So a full autoloader that loads both shells and charges?

What type of autoloader did the XM2001 have?

The plan right now is to use X-plane, which is a flight simulator that includes a designer function. The designer also includes some stock weapons that you can add - but you can design missiles for it too.
The two issues are that X-plane is typically quite expensive to get a hold of, and the learning curve on the plane designer is steep.
Does it include aerodynamic simulation?
I have an older copy of X-plane on a disk, would that work?
-
If I may ask, how would one go about designing a plane and it's missiles?
Which simulation programs will be used?

@LoooSeR So what would you say are the likely outcomes of this war?

No. From first days of this war it was obvious that our political leadership is not trying to kill Ukrainian politicians.
Strange, what do believe their objectives to be?

1. This is effectively statement of fact. 2 possibilities - either Kiev operation was attempt to put pressure on Ukrainian leadership to make them surrender, or it was distrcting attack to suck in number of enemy troops.
2. This is just statements of intentions, this is not an agreement. Even if it will be put on paper, Ukrainian can exit a building where they signed it and claims "ain't doing that!" like they did with Minsk agreement. I have strong suspicion that all this dimplomacy stuff is mostly a show for both sides.
3. Nothing changed and unlikely to change until current leadership of Ukraine is in power. Taking into account recent banning of 11 opposition parties, the only way to change them is by force.
This war will take several more months and then even more months of special operations (like on North Caucausus) to clear 99% of opposition forces from taken territory. Negotiations are unlikely to produce any satisfactory results for both sides for quite some time.
Significant amount of our forces and armor was already spotted moving in from North and south directions of bult of UAF forces in Donbas (In directions of Izyum and Volnovakha).
Kupyansk town (in direction of Izyum):
To roughly Volnovakha region:
UAF have around 50-70k troops there as i heard, they are major forces and needs to be dealt with if Russian forces want to continue operation. Frontlines are way to long and attacking country with limited amount of troops in 6 directions in the same time is going to be costly.
News were met with anger in military related groups on the net, which is understandable after videof of Ukrainians executing our POWs. Cool heads are waiting to see what happends next. Remember, in Syria Russia claimed to withdraw troops back in 2016, and you see how "decrease of activity" in Syria worked out - most important battles against ISIS and operations in Western Syria were completed.
Do you believe that the Russian government will replace the puppet regime with a pro Russian one or perhaps annex Ukraine?

2km or so
So the Monoliith would likely have the range advantage lol, perhapse not the hit probability advantage, but it would not matter that mutch.

I think it would depend heavily on the terrain. Something I only realised about the Stumpy after the competition is that its MMP is ass, so any kind of swampy terrain would be a nightmare for it. On firm, rolling ground, however, I think it could just sling giant HEAT missiles at the Monolith until something gives out.
What is the range of the LUB?

Stupidity is its own reward
Agreed.

I must say I was actually quite surprised to see the Monolith doing as well as it did, but no points for meeting the penetration requirement with APHE?
I wonder what an engagement between a Monolith and Stumpy would look like.

1) it can, depends on angle of impact, ERA, distance between ERA and actual hull, type of warhead. There is 2S24 ERA for BMP-3 that can stop certain HEAT rockets from RPG-7.
2) Boomerang-BM is nearly same as Berezhok in terms of weapons. Main difference are in FCS/electronics/BMS, features that Algerian army is not going to be able to take full advantage from. BTR-T "turret" is not a thing, and generally 30 mm AC armed turrets or combat modules are kind of weak and low energy choice for tank chassis to carry around. This is almost as dumb as BMPT.
1) I was referring to modern APFSDS, I do not think it will be practical to protect a single layer of thin steel against it with ERA. Shaped charges of infantry rockets are a different story, but I still wonder if it would not be better to just use NERA instead of thoes ludicrous ERA blocks.
2) I agree that they are unlikely to get a good vehicle out of this program, I just though it silly to mount a lightly armored manned turret on a hull that should be relatively resistant to most autocannon. Most of my suggestions were unmanned turrets with a similar armament to Berezhok.

I am not so sure if even the best ERA can keep things out of only 70mm of steel

That is T-90MS.
Did they fix this on the T-90M?

I just found this, the commanders side has some issues.

nope, bigger than older turret
In what way exactly?
On the old turret the cheeks barely even covered the Gunner and Commander who sat mostly behind the flat zone which became very thin as it go closer to the mantlet. Were you talking about a different weakened zone?

Atleast to weakened zone is now smaller.

A slightly better image of the BMP-3 with the Epokha
-
It reminds me of this one image I have seen a few times of someone having tea on the roof of a tank with an umbrella installed on it.
Perhaps it is for mounting soft pack ERA? Or operating in unpleasant weather?

Just noticed that the NRTK Kurier UGV does not appear to have any remote elevation mechanism and the traverse mechanism (often blurred on video) seems to consist of a pneumatic cylinder.
Are these photos and videos just tests to see if the chassis can support stuff?
