who doesn't at least give the enforcer props for being both a sexy beast and a flying piece of American nostalgia hearkening back to simpler and better times...

Or something like that

It's not like Americans are the only people who do it, the early concept art etc that eventually evolved into the mi-24 gunship were basically just the il-2 in helicopter drag.

The manufacturer of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 - Sukhoi Civil Aircrafts (SCA) - prepared the documents and sent an application to the Office for Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury to approve the shipments of SS100 to Iran. This was reported to "Lenta.ru" in the SCA.

"The SCA application is pending at OFAC. The term of its consideration is individual for each case and is not regulated" the representative of the company said.

In early August, the United Aircraft Construction Company (UAC), which includes the SCA, responded to the request of "Lenta.ru" that the relevant package of documents is in the process of preparation. The holding explained that the approval of OFAC is necessary because of the presence of American components in the SSJ100.

Let me remind you that only ours and the Chinese participated in this competition. As a result of the competition, the same number of prizes from the teams of Russia and China, in four competitions won ours, and in the other four - Chinese crews. Therefore, the Cup of the winner of "Aviadart" was given to both teams.

Barbecued J-15!

Surprisingly the aircraft involved in said incident suffered minor damage even to critical components. (It needs some repairs before it's flyable again but it's not a write off by any means.)

Every time I start getting a hate-on for Robert McNamara, I end up reading the Wikipedia article on the A-7 and it takes all the fight right out of me.

How long till someone complains that it doesn't have as much rearward visibility as a late P-51?

(probably until whoever loses the contract reheats an old design, of course)

Yeah, that's totally necessary now that we have helmets that make the entire airframe invisible to the pilot lol.
