The time schedule seems to be impossible to me.

I read elsewhere that there is an internal bay for 3x RVV-SD (or 2 AGM/bombs) and two small internal bays for one RVV-MD each and that the target running cost is on Gripen level, i.e. super cheap. Can you confirm?

They actually announced that they already have a foreign launch customer since the start of the development !?

Most important take is probably this is supposedly developed like USAF suggested for E-series , wholly digitally developed and tested prior to making a prototype shortening the development time considerably.

English language presentation.

More footage of Vikhr-1 test fires.

In video texts display some stats of the missile - 10 km max range, HE-Frag warhead, 750 mm pen after ERA, 610 m/s speed, missile rated for launch from 10-4000m altitude.

Seems like there is some new developments with helos as well

Mil 171 'Gazprom' looks like completely new machine combining new fuselage with Mil28 power train and rotor system. Will it also end up as cheap alternative to Mil 38 for the military?

Considering how smooth it is i gather its mostly composite  construction which should also saved some weight

Although this looks like civilian one , it looks like there are add on armor panels on front doors , folding rotors also hint towards shipborne use

Again new composite fuselage

Figures presented at MAKS indicate that that maximum speed rose to 134kt (250km/h), up from 118kt; range grew to 302nm (560km), from 260nm; while payload for the 3.6t helicopter grew to 1,000kg (2,204lb), up from 785kg.

I really would like to know what's going on with the two IRST systems. Did they go for a long-wave *and* a mid-wave sensor?

Likely just two diffrerent systems sort of  EOTS  and separate IRST  , no need to drag a Sniper pod if you have that capabilty buit in.

Rafale has both side by side , as do some chinese pods  for fighters.

Russian Navy brand new Beriev BE-200 RF-88450 crashed on a firefighting mission in Turkey. All eight people onboard died in the crash. Video of the accident and a photo of the wreckage under the link: https://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=20210814-0

From the video it looks to me that the crew probably misjudged the climb they needed to take to get over the mountain.

Few days back the ill-fated Il-112V project suffered another setback when the prototype crashed killing all three crewmembers onboard. The crash occured because of massive engine fire at low speed and altitude possibly combined with non-functional propeller feathering system (not confirmed yet). There is a lot of talk about the TV7-117ST engines being source of constant troubles all the time through the development (aside of issues with airframe weight and center of gravity).

Izdelie 305 / LMUR was shown at Army 2021 forum, also 305E (export version) was revealed.

General Designer of the Research and Production Corporation "Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering" Valery Kashin in a conversation with "Zvezda" spoke about the unique properties of the newest guided missile of the "air-to-surface" class "Product 305E". The novelty is presented at the Army forum.

This light multipurpose guided missile is being presented to the general public for the first time. It is designed to arm combat helicopters - Mi-28NM, Ka-52M, as well as on some modifications of the Mi-8.

“For the first time in our class of helicopter armament, a missile shown is “fire-and-forget” type of system. The missile has a guaranteed range of 14.5 kilometers. Depending on the flight altitude, on the conditions of use, this range can be even greater, ”he explained.

As the designer said, the missile is designed to hit various targets - not so much tanks as those targets that are deep in the defense, at range. The rocket has a thermal imaging homing head, a fairly accurate inertial navigation system coupled with GLONASS, an altimeter and a communication channel with the helicopter that launched it.

According to Kashin, the missile can be used in several modes. The first is the “fire and forget” mode, when it has captured the target while missile is right under the wing of the helicopter and then carries out its task without any interference from the helicopter crew.

"The second option - the helicopter detected the target using its sighting system, transmitted the coordinates of the target to the missile board and then the missile performs a flight initially in inertial mode, and then captures the target according to the reference entered into it," Kashin said.

The third option is when the helicopter is at a distance, and its own detection and aiming equipment cannot detect the target. It was given the approximate coordinates of the target, it shoots a rocket in this area in an inertial mode. When the missile approaches the target, several kilometers away, the missile transmits on board the image that the seeker sees. The weapon operator, who ensured the launch of the rocket, indicates the target to the rocket, then the rocket captures it and aims at it until a direct hit.

So 14.5 km range or higher. Speed is up to 230 m/s, flight altitude is 100-600 meters. Guidance - inertial, with satelite correction, on terminal phase - thermal imaging seeker. Weight of this missile is 105 kg, 25 of which is HE-Frag warhead.

   Missile have 3 guidance modes:

  • Fire and Forget at targets "nearby"
  • Launch at long ranges using data collected by helicopter sensors. Inertial and satelite navigation systems brings missile into target area, then thermal imager seeker/computer starts to search for target based on reference image
  • Man in the loop variant of second mode - instead of software that tries to recognise target, missile sends videofeed via datalink with gunship, and weapon operator chooses target for missile to lock on. Used in case of helicopter receive targeting data externally (via Strelets system, for example)

Missile is already intergrated to Ka-52.

Interesting bits in lower part - Izdelie 305 and under it shows integration with Strelets system.
