The use of an guided 300 mm missile descending on a stabilizing parachute of the Tornado-S MLRS against Ukrainian facilities in Kramatorsk.

Previously, similar ammunition was used to strike at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kharkov.

Does anyone knows if it will be part of infantry or cavalry anti-units or artillery (like the former Pereh Israeli AT system)

It will replace the BRDM-2 with Malyutka, in service with 14th anti-tank artillery regiment which is part of the rocket and artillery forces, so the answer is artillery, at least for that unit.

It’s about time they put a ramjet on a shell. My personal thoughts were they would be more suited for AP projectiles than HE because you don’t have to deal with the filler in AP shot anymore, and you want your AP to go about as fast as the ram can take it.

From tank-net:

A 2001 precursor to the XM1299, the M109A6+ with its 52-caliber, 155mm M284 gun.

EDIT: the M109A6+ was also dubbed "International Howitzer" and boasted several improved capabilities. Aside from its 52-caliber, JBMOU-compliant and Watervliet Arsenal-built M284 gun, it also sported a semi-automatic rammer, an automatic fire control system and a modified suspension.

i am fascinated by this concept of letting the unitary explosive descent on a parachute. Now im not very well versed on artillery matters, so pls correct me if im getting something wrong, but as i understand it Elbit uses the parachute to achieve a more vertical descent creating a more efficient spread of the fragmentation (it would be interesting to know if the "Standard HE" is also pre-fragmented, or just natural fragmentation). But regardless of their claims about the improved cover area, im interested in the plausibility of two other uses of this mechanism. If their existed the option to time the exit of the payload from the shell body, couldnt this be used as a 1 dimensional course correction mechanism (in combination with a muzzle velocity radar)? And shouldnt it be possible to achieve MRSI, without altering the amount of propellant, by adjusting the timing of the release for every elevation?
