Defense-update also say the missile will be showcased in MSPO in a bid to convince Poland to purchase it for its fleet of Mi-24 which are currently lacking ATGMs. Also, the Spike ER is already in use by a Mi-24 user.

Probably not only Mi-24. LEONARDO believes that PZL W-3 can be also Spike ER's carrier.

Spoiler

After 20 years

And afterwards these ATGMs would be used on future helicopters of Polish Army and (maybe) future tank destroyers.

From not very well informed view, MBDA's weapon looks to be better choise for SFs. Spike SR on paper have less to offer than Enforcer. Enforcer have higher range, airbust capability (according to their site) and it is lighter.

What do you think?

MBDA has developed the Enforcer based on the requirements of the German military (or rather informal talks preceeding the official requirement). It seems to be more suited for the role, at least when all the claims from the various sources that have reported on its development are correct. Spike-SR also would be a good choice though.

Russia develops next-generation anti-tank missile to replace Kornet

Quote

The NPO High Precision Systems (“Vysokotochnye Kompleksy”) holding company has announced the development of the next-generation anti-tank missile system with fire and forget capability during the Army-2018 international military and technical forum.

According to the report of the Russian Ministry of Defence’s Zvezda TV channel, the holding company is developing a new generation of missiles for destroying tanks and other types of the armor.

“The holding company’s enterprises are developing next-generation anti-tank missile systems,” the company said in its statement at the Army-2018 international military and technical forum.

The company declined to specify the project’s details and the name of the ongoing work.

Today a tank is the most protected and survivable vehicle on the battlefield. Modern tanks feature multi-layered armor made of various materials and explosive reactive armor. Also, active protection systems are being developed for tanks to shoot down incoming missiles and shells. In modern conflicts, tanks withstood several hits from anti-tank missile systems.

Some experts reported that a Russian defense company is trying to develop similar to Javelin anti-tank systems for replacing Kornet.

In addition, in mid-2016, the Chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ Missile Troops and Artillery Lieutenant-General Mikhail Matveyevsky said that has already been planned the development of a new anti-tank missile complex with fire and forget capability.

He also clarified that the development of ATGM “goes in the direction of improving combat performance, noise immunity of missiles, automating the control of anti-tank systems and increasing the power of warheads.”

As the article says, this was reported in 2016 already, but it's good for them that they're going in this direction, and an even stronger reminder to the west that APS are essential.

They say in the end that they intend to increase the power of the warhead.

Whomst in their right mind would try to go over 1,300mm of RHA penetration, in a missile that attacks the top? That's just wasted space and extra un-needed weight.

Unless of course they're saying they want to make it automated but let it still attack in a 'normal' profile, not top attack. Or maybe I'm just nitpicking.

They were trying to make F&F ATGMs since Hermes times (it was tested like in 2005 on Ka-52, IIRC, in Hemres-A configuration, although i am not sure if missiles were even real prototypes). I don't expect much from this either. At least until i will see a real product.

I would go on with the nitpicking: " Russian defense company is trying to develop similar to Javelin anti-tank systems". Being nitpicky  this would mean replacing it with a shoulder launched F&F with half the Range compared to a 9M133M-2. Probably a Spike ER is more fitting.
