So, one of the other takeaways is this:

People think that having an opaque, authoritarian government leads to general  tyranny. That's pretty true, but not necessarily a universal.

What does seem to be universal is that government ministers, given the power to do so, will set up secret paedophile rings.

People from the UK can corroborate my theory.

But don't worry, Tox, the US is doing its best to close the pedophilia rape cult gap!

MOSCOW, August 19 (Itar-Tass) - RIA Novosti. The militants of the radical movement "Taliban" captured the Bilchirag district in the southern part of the Afghan province of Faryab, there is no data on the whereabouts of about 100 Afghan soldiers, Tolo News reported quoting the source.
This week, representative of the Shahin camp, Mohammad Hanif Rezae, told RIA Novosti that the militants of the radical Taliban movement had captured a military base in Faryab province in the north-west of the country.    According to the publication, representatives of the Taliban will take part in an international meeting on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan. The meeting will take place on September 4 with the participation of representatives from Russia, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

It should be reminded that earlier the Taliban delegation visited Uzbekistan and held talks with representatives of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry. In addition, on 12-15 August, the Taliban visited Indonesia, during which members of the delegation discussed the prospects of the Afghan peace process with the Indonesian authorities.

As "Afghanistan.Ru" has already reported, recently in the Russian press information appeared about Moscow's intentions to abandon the term "group banned in the Russian Federation" with regard to the Taliban insurgency. With reference to an anonymous source from diplomatic circles, the publication "Arguments of the Week" reported that this step was taken in connection with the initiative to promote dialogue with the Afghan armed opposition. The interlocutor of the publication also told that representatives of the Taliban will soon be able to visit Moscow to participate in the international meeting of the Moscow format on the issues of the Afghan settlement.

Taliban is winning and gained some political weight.

Peace, finally!

The German city Bad Belzig and Denmark have decided to sign a peace treaty after being officially at war (from the perspective of the German city) for 473 years. The whole conflict was rediscovered a year ago, when the old declaration of war was found in an archive. The king of Denmark didn't pay 20,000 Thaler salary to the ruler of the city, who served as a high-ranked mercenary in the Danish army for some time. The Danish ambassador will visit the city on Sunday to sign the peace treaty.

A woman who was open about calling other people racists for supporting immigration reform is killed by an immigrant.

People have the obvious reaction of, "Well, this is darkly ironic."

And now people get buttmad at the truth.
