i always wondered why they didn't put sth bigger than 20mm later on?

There was a competition during the 1980s to upgun the Marder while keeping the existing turret. Rheinmetall developed the Rh 205 gun for this competition, while Mauser developed the MK 25 (also known as Mauser Model E). Both of these guns were chambered in the 25 x 137 mm caliber. In the end it was decided that the funds would be of more use in the Marder 2 IFV development/Kampfwagen 90 project.

Valhalla turret? LOL Valhalla turrets is literally  a guy in his garage and lots of concepts and renders but little in way of actual turrets.

It is not. It is an engineering office with no own production capacity. IIRC they even managed to get some small scale production contract for a RWS or one-man turret a few years back.

Just now, Willy Brandt said:

So KMW has some new patents for a tracked Drive Module that takes Boxer Mission Modules.
Here is the patent: https://worldwide.espacenet.com/patent/search/family/073789775/publication/WO2021104577A1?q=pn%3DWO2021104577A1

Yes.
but can they developpe a tracked chassis fully compatible with the Boxer mission module standard ?

Doubt it will look like this. KMW wants to get away from RHM and the Boxer Drive Module ist still partly intellectual property of RHM.

Should be easily, they have the Puma and her decoupled running gear. They could easily slot in a chassis that can accept boxer modules and still have it somewhat compatible with existing products.

Boxer issues down under.

  • Dozens of combat reconnaissance vehicles face serious technical issues, posing a threat to the $5.6 billion project
  • The vehicle's turrets are vulnerable to missile attacks as they are too heavy to add anti-missile protection
  • Defence privately threatened manufacturer Rheinmetall with listing the CRV as a project of concern
