Abrams should be taken by two brigades: 10Armoured Cav Brig and 34 Armoured Cav Bde. Still Im doubt but knowing this goverment - it's possible...

Hello,

I am new to this forum. I am interested in your comment as I had not heard this.

Would these be new builds? I know the U.S. had offered 400 early M-1Abrams with 105MM to Greece, who turned them down. I wondered if Poland would look at them for upgrades in Poland with diesel engines, 120MM guns, Polish optics, etc.

Wouldn't make a lot of sense but ....

On January 15, 2020, at the location of the 6th Airborne Brigade named after Brigadier-General Stanislaw František Sosabowski, a ceremony was held in Krakow to hand over the first batch (15 units) of new off-road combat vehicles manufactured by the KAFAR consortium Bartłomiej Sztukit Auto, Hibner Podlasie, Auto Special Modlniczka / Branch Sobiesław Zasada Warszawa. The new Polish airborne combat vehicle was developed on the chassis of the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series SUV.
The contract for the supply of the Polish army of 55 amphibious all-terrain combat vehicles with an option for another 25 vehicles in the amount of $ 8.7 million was signed on December 14, 2018, following a tender held by the Polish Army Arms Inspectorate.
New vehicles can be transported both by helicopter and military transport aircraft C-130E Hercules and C295M.

Hyundai Rotem was aiming to strike a $9 billion tank development deal with the Polish government. If the deal actually happens, it would mark the first time for the company to export its integrated defense technology overseas.

Hyundai Rotem is planning to partner with the Polish government to develop and produce 800 K2 Black Panther class tanks. The monetary value of the possible deal was unknown.

There is some gossip about Czech interest in K2 as well (nothing official at all at the moment). It would make a lot of sense if that was a common deal with the Poles. That could add the potential numbers.

The background of that is that Leopard II and most of the other tanks are considered way too heavy. Nothing was ever prepared for such heavy tank in our country (including bridges) and having such heavy tanks would bring a lot of additional investments.

They were only because that is the MoD's need. If MoD needed 400 tanks then Hyundai would offer 400 tanks.

But the year of 2023 is still fake. The official offer is that Hyundai will send 75 tanks (one battalion + 14 driving school vehicles + 3 prototypes - one for each program phase) up to 2027 (if the contract would be signed in next year) and after 2027 we can talk about the production.

That's the second part. Tanks for you (and for the rest of Europe) would be produced in Poland but that would be an up-armored version (similar to Altay). Not the basic one.

But still it's around 2030+ year when you can receive these tanks.

That seems pretty slow.
