Sturgeon
It's an original M1918, as it does not have the magazine guide vanes of the A2 nor the bipod of the A1. Welcome to the forum, Flametz. I've seen you lurking for a while now. Flametz

Meplat
Is that an A2 BAR? Simple flash hider and high wood forend are distinguishing features of pre A2 marks. The Thompsons are as pictured- A M1A1, then a M1, with a M1928A1 in the second image.
Sturgeon
In a classic case of "a joke becoming a tradition", I - no great fan of naming things - dubbed my Colt 6920 "Incitatus" because it was (at the time) the most expensive gun I'd ever bought, and also I felt I must be crazy to buy an AR. It was never meant to stick, mind you, being just a passing jab at the rifle I reluctantly bought.Five years later, my girlfriend won't let me live it down, so I said "fine, now you have to name yours". She did, now we're wondering what the hell we're gonna name the rest of the collection. And I feel like something's a bit wrong, but can't tell what... Donward
WAT? It is not the best of photos admittedly. But it is Aero Precision's Ghost Gun which allows me to use a 30 caliber clip, which is apparently important. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/03/12/aero-precisions-ghost-gun-lower-recevier/ Now I wasn't actually looking for the gimmicky stuff, but the price was right and I'm about an hour away from most gun stores and didn't want to spend all day driving around. I know that it's an AR receiver. I was just kinda flabbergasted that you bought an AR receiver. Sturgeon
I expect you to chamber the resulting rifle in .45-70 and somehow manage to convert it to lever action.

Donward
I'll post better pictures in the future. Maybe. Someday... But here are a couple poorly framed cell phone pictures of my latest acquisition. I got it on Wednesday after getting highly miffed at the outrageous firearms prices being bid at the local overly-hyped gun auction that I mentioned earlier. So instead I went to my favorite gun shop, DJ's Pawn and Sport in Bothell and they had a pair of these beauties. I bought one, my little bro bought the matching one. Since I was also buying a concealed carry revolver for the wife, I was able to negotiate an even better price on the rifles, getting them at well under $300 apiece. Donward
Yeah. I don't have time for better pics atm. The gun needs a good cleaning and I'll break it down in a few days, including seeing whether it still has the soldier's name tag under the buttstock l. Donward
Yeah. Bothell deserves all the jokes it has earned. DJ's is an awesome gunship though, with lots of neat toys and less emphasis on tactical shit. I've noticed right off the bolt on the K-31 is real smooth and it seems to prefer that you use an aggressive cycling action.

I'm wearing my wool socks which - I might add - are in keeping with a Swiss K-31 rifle.
