Attempts by historians and collectors to identify the original designers of these toys have not been successful (e.g. Martin, K. (2010). Farnell teddy bears. On the one hand, it is neat that the toys which were the inspiration for a very good series of books and children's cartoons which have entertained hundreds of millions are still around. On the other hand, the life of the real Christopher Robin Milne was a very sad one, which make those toys seem rather grubby and shoddy.
