The Saudi coalition is preparing to storm the Yemeni port of Hodeidah, powerful aerial strikes are being made around the city, and yesterday the Houthis near Hodeida hit an emirate ship, while it was trying to land an assault units. Unfortunately there is still no video as well as what exactly happened.

The full-scale fighting in Hodeida for the Houthis will mean a complete blockade and threaten the famine for the densely populated mountain regions controlled by them, including the capital Sana.

Chairman of the Supreme Political Council of the Husit, Shiite rebels in Yemen, Mahdi Al-Mashat sent a telegram to Russian President Vladimir Putin requesting assistance in ending the civil war on the territory of the country. This is reported by the Yemeni news agency SABA.

In a message circulated by the agency on Thursday, July 19, Al-Mashat asked Russia to use its international influence to stop aggression and lift the blockade (referring to the air and sea blockade of Yemen imposed by the Sunni Coalition - Lenty.ru). He also called on Putin to ensure security and stability in the country.

On Monday, July 23, it became known that the Yemeni insurgents-houthis sent a letter to the authorities of France with a request to intervene in the war. They called on French President Emmanuel Macron to play "an important, visible political role in the establishment of peace."

The Houthis, who are at war with the coalition of Sunni states, mostly the monarchies of the Persian Gulf, despite their long successes, were on the brink of defeat after the beginning of the June 13 Golden Victory operation by the international Islamic coalition. Then, the strategically important port city of Hodeid on the Red Sea, held by the Houthi movement Ansar Allah, was captured.

The civil war in Yemen comes in 2014. One of the belligerents is the military wing of the Houthis (Shiite movement Ansar Allah) and part of the army loyal to the former leadership of the country, the other is the troops of the exiled Sunni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and the coalition led by the Saudi Arabia.

On July 26, 2018, the Saudi news agency circulated a message from local Energy Minister Khaled al-Faleh. It says that the kingdom temporarily stops the supply of oil through the Bab el Mandeb Strait in connection with the attack of Houthis on two tankers of the national transport company with oil.

The attack occurred in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen. Initially, Riyadh reported only one tanker with minor damage. Claiming that no one was hurt, and the oil spill does not threaten the ecological situation in the area.

On the real seriousness of the situation can be judged, according to the minister himself. After all, he specified that the oil supplies will be restored. Immediately after the situation has cleared up and sea transport through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait again becomes safe. However, this is not realistic, at least until Saudi Arabia itself is at war in Yemen.

The Houthis say that their newest UAV "Samad-3" (in honor of the deceased President of Yemen) attacked Abu Dhabi International Airport. At the airport they write about the "incident" with the "vehicle". It should be noted that Yemen and the UAE do not even have a common border.

The activity of the Yemeni drones is growing. Previously, the UAV "Samad-2" attacked the refinery in Riyadh, before this UAV of unknown model attacked the headquarters of the coalition in Aden. Also yesterday the Husits said that the UAV had struck a blow against the headquarters of the Hadi army in the province of El Beida.

Saudi Arsan tanker after attack of Houthis

The Saudi large-capacity tanker of the 3rd class (VLCC) Arsan with deadweight of 314,000 tons was attacked on the night of July 24 to July 25, 70 miles west of the Yemeni port of Hodeida. Until now, it is not very clear what hit it, there are suggestions that a motor boat could come out behind him and launch a missile. One way or another, Saudi Arabia temporarily stopped oil exports through the Bab el Mandeb Strait.

Now, by the way, it is assumed that Houthis receive guidance for actions against the coalition from the Iranian merchant ship Saviz, which since last year drifts in the Red Sea near the Dahlak archipelago. At the end of last year, the coalition believed that with its help the Iranians are supplying arms to Houthis, but it is clearly not there for such a long time. Therefore, it is now assumed that radio and electronic reconnaissance can be conducted from its side
