Saudi Arabia to begin operations in Yemen

The conflicts in Ukraine, Yemen and Syria all have a hell of a lot more artillery action going on than the US conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Missiles, tube, mortars, and hell, even home-made propane tank rockets and trebuchets throwing boxes of firecrackers and nails.  Western military thinkers are going to have to consider that for the future.  The focus has been mostly on small arms and IEDs.

Because such weapons in an American controlled field would be easy pickings for their air force

There is a differnece between an insurgency and a full blown convential nation wide conflict

The coalition did use alot of artillery, particularly MRLS in Desert Storm to great effect dispite being underreported compared to the air strikes

Yemen’s army and its allies have conducted a ballistic missile attack against a Saudi military base in its southwestern Asir region.

It is unknown the extent of the damage or the death toll caused by the two fired ballistic missiles.

The Saudi aggression in Yemen since March 2015 has led to the death over 8,000 people, in which 2,236 are children. The Saudi led coalition airstrikes have especially targeted civilian infrastructures like hospitals, schools, factories and dams.

The Yemeni army currently control large swathes of southern Saudi Arabia as retaliation for their aggression.

Yemeni Army seizes strategic mountaintop from Saudi forces in Taiz

The Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard and the Houthis have taken full control of Jabal Al-Shubkah in the Ta’iz Governorate after a fierce battle with the Saudi-led Coalition forces on Saturday morning.

According to a local Yemeni Army source, Jabal Al-Shubkah is located in the Thubab District of the Ta’iz Governorate; this was one of the most volatile areas in the aforementioned province before the Yemeni forces captured it from the Saudi-led Coalition and their foreign mercenaries.

The Yemeni news channel “Al-Masirah” reported that a large number of Saudi-led Coalition soldiers and mercenaries were killed during the battle.

In addition to killing several enemy combatants, the Yemeni forces also destroyed two armored vehicles belonging to the Saudi Royal Army.
