LoooSeR
http://www.almasdarnews.com/article/yemeni-army-and-popular-committees-advance-towards-aden/ Yemeni Army and Popular Committees Advance Towards Aden The Yemeni army and popular committees loyal to Ansarullah revolutionary movement are advancing toward the southern city of Aden, as they secured considerable gains in the region. Field sources in Yemen reported that the allied forces captured Damat district in Dale’a province, after they forced the Saudi-led forces out of it.The AFP news agency also reported that Damat was in the hands of the army and the committees. Meanwhile, the allied forces also took control of a strategic hilltop of al-Yaes which overlook al-Anad airbase in the country’s southwestern Lahij province. The airbase, located some 60 kilometers from Aden, fell to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi loyalists in July following a lengthy offensive. Yemen has been since March 26 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition. Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians. Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia. However, Yemeni army, backed by the committees has been responding to the aggression by targeting several Saudi border military posts and cleansing several areas across the country, especially the country’s south, from Hadi and al-Qaeda-linked militias. LoooSeR
http://www.almasdarnews.com/article/breaking-yemeni-army-and-houthis-prepare-to-storm-the-largest-military-base-in-yemen/ Breaking: Yemeni Army and Houthis Prepare to Storm the Largest Military Base in Yemen The Yemeni Army and their popular committees – led by the Houthis – have begun the long-awaited battle for the Al-Anad Military Base in the Al-Lahj Governorate after firing several mortar shells and rockets towards the Hadi loyalists and their foreign counterparts at the northwestern perimeter of this large military installation in southern Yemen. According to a battlefield report from a journalist on the ground with the Houthis, the Yemeni Army and their popular committees have prepared their forces to storm the Al-Anad Military Base while the Hadi loyalists and their counterparts from the Saudi-led Coalition get in position to protect this military installation from the resistance forces at all costs. The Al-Anad Military Base was recaptured by the Saudi-led Coalition in August after a long battle with the Houthis and the Yemeni Army; this fight was preceded by the Hadi Loyalists and the Saudi-led Coalition Forces declaring victory at the Battle of Aden after almost 5 months of fighting. Should the Yemeni Army and the Houthis recapture this imperative military site in southern Yemen, they will have access to the strategic city of Aden’s northern district, marking the second time this year that they will have threatened the Hadi Loyalists and Saudi-led Coalition near this large port. LoooSeR
http://www.almasdarnews.com/article/breaking-yemeni-army-and-houthis-capture-the-city-of-qutabah-in-southern-yemen/ Breaking: Yemeni Army and Houthis Capture the City of Qutabah in Southern Yemen Moments ago, the Yemeni Army and their popular committees – backed by the Houthis – imposed full control over the strategic city of Qutabah in the Al-Dhale’ Governorate after the Hadi loyalists and the Saudi-led Coalition militants fled their military posts before the resistance fighters entered this site inside Yemen’s southern countryside. The Yemeni Army and Houthis are currently on the offensive in southern Yemen, targeting the Al-Dhale’, Al-Lahj and Shabwa Governorates that are mostly controlled by the Hadi loyalists and their allies from the Saudi-led Coalition – the latter is comprised of Sudanese, Saudi and UAE soldiers that have not fared well against the resistance forces, primarily against the Houthis. Yesterday, the Yemeni Army and Houthis began their heavy bombardment of the strategic Al-Anad Military Base; however, they held-off from storming this site, despite being in position to strike the Hadi loyalists and Saudi-led Coalition forces protecting this large base in the Al-Lahj Governorate. Should the Yemeni Army and Houthis capture the Al-Anad Military Base, they will have access to the strategic port-city of Aden; this port-city was the scene of some of the fiercest battles in Yemen for the four months that it lasted before the Hadi loyalists declared victory in August. The Al-Anad Military Base is the largest military installation in Yemen and its heavily fortified by the Saudi-led Coalition Forces that will likely not give up this site without a fight. LoooSeR
Another cyclone is bearing down on Southern Yemen. Weather won't be kind towards coalition air power. It wasn't very effective eariler, so not a big deal for parts of Yemeni army and Hothis, that use ballistic missiles like Tochka-U to hit SA despite airstrikes, that were aimed to destroy all those systems. Although this is pretty good news for civs.

LoooSeR
http://www.almasdarnews.com/article/complete-map-of-yemen-battlefield-update-around-the-country/#prettyPhoto Complete Map of Yemen: Battlefield Update Around the Country The Hadi loyalists and the Saudi-led Coalition Forces won the battle of Aden in August of this year; however, since this integral victory, they have found themselves unable to make any progress on the ground, despite have the superior weaponry and an air force to combat the Yemeni Army and their popular committees. It seems that the Hadi loyalists and the Saudi-led Coalition Forces have doubted the military prowess of the Yemeni Army and their popular committees; most notably, the Houthis fighters, who have proven not only tough, but also, very prudent in battle. With the Hadi loyalists stabilized for the time being, the Yemeni Army and the Houthis launched a massive counter-offensive in the southern part of the country and a large counter-assault inside Saudi Arabia in order to cutoff the Coalition supply route to the Jizan Region. Two weeks ago, the Yemeni Army and Houthis did the unthinkable – they captured the imperative city of Rabuah in the Al-Asir Governorate, marking the first time that they have taken complete control of a Saudi city. Not only was the capture of Rabuah embarrassing for the Saudi-led Coalition, but also, incredibly important; it is so important that the United Arab Emirates decided to beef up their forces in Saudi Arabia to attempt to retake the city – they have been unsuccessful so far. On top of all of this, the Yemeni Republican Guard and Houthis are on the move in southern Yemen after reversing the gains made by the Hadi loyalists inside the city of Ta’iz in late August. Last week, the Yemeni Republican Guard and the Houthis imposed full control over several sites in the Dhale’, Shabwa, and Lahj Governorates, including the strategic city of Damt; this has paved the way for the resistance forces to concentrate their attention on the largest military base in Yemen: Al-Anad. The battle for Al-Anad Military Base is set to begin any day; if captured, the Yemeni Republican Guard and Houthis will have access to the large port-city of Aden. LoooSeR
http://www.almasdarnews.com/article/first-qatari-soldier-killed-in-yemen/ First Qatari Soldier Killed in Yemen A Qatari soldier serving with the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen has been killed, Qatar’s first fatality of the conflict, the foreign minister said on Wednesday. “We congratulate ourselves and our nation for the martyrdom of a son of our homeland in Yemen,” Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah announced on Twitter. “May God accept him in the highest heavens and bestow patience and solace on his family.” Government officials later confirmed the death, though no more details were given. There have been no previous deaths reported among the Qatari force though two soldiers had previously been injured, said officials. Qatar’s air force, along with those of other Gulf Cooperation Council members, has taken part in the aerial campaign which began in March this year. Doha sent 1,000 troops into Yemen in September as part of the ongoing Arab coalition against the Arab impoverished country. Most of the Qatari troops are thought to be stationed close to the Yemen-Saudi border.

The Yemeni forces also launched a rocketry attack against a gathering for the Saudi military vehicles in Rajla site in Najran area. The Hadi loyalists and their allies attempted to capture the strategic city of Ta’iz this weekend; however, the assault was repelled by the Yemeni Army and Houthis after the Saudi-backed forces suffered heavy casualties and the loss of many armored vehicles in the process. According to a battlefield report from a local journalist in southern Yemen, the Houthis forces reportedly killed a prominent senior commander of Al-Qaeda during their failed infiltration into the city of Ta’iz on Saturday. The report added that the senior Al-Qaeda commander was identified as “‘Abdel-Wahid Al-Bukkari”; this was later confirmed by the terrorist group themselves after several reports surfaced regarding his status in Yemen. Not much is known about Abdel-Wahid Al-Bukkari’s real identity or his time Yemen, but his status in Al-Qaeda is well-known; especially, after serving on several battlefronts (including Afghanistan and Iraq) for this international terrorist group. cm_kruger
Bernard Fall in 1965: http://www.au.af.mil/au/awc/awcgate/navy/art5-w98.htm The next point is that this concept of revolutionary war can be applied by anyone anywhere. One doesn't have to be white to be defeated. One doesn't have to be European or American. Colonel [Gamal Abdel] Nasser's [president of Egypt, 1956-1970] recent experience in Yemen is instructive. He fought with 40,000 troops, Russian tanks, and Russian jets in Yemen against a few thousand barefoot Yemenite guerrillas. The tanks lost. After three years of inconclusive fighting the Egyptian-backed Yemen regime barely holds the major cities, and Nasser is reported to be on the lookout for a face-saving withdrawal. LoooSeR
http://www.almasdarnews.com/article/bahraini-forcesouthern-yemen/ Almasdar don't like Bahrain. Hundreds of Bahraini Soldiers Arrive in Aden to Aid the Saudi-Led Coalition Attacking Southern Yemen On Wednesday morning, the Bahraini’s regime sent hundreds of their soldiers to the Yemeni port-city of Aden in order to help their allies in the Saudi-led Coalition to recapture the territory they lost to the Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard and their popular committees (Houthis) earlier this month. With the Saudi-led Coalition forces and Hadi loyalists concentrated on the strategic city of Ta’iz in southern Yemen, the Bahraini regime soldiers will likely be transferred to this front in order to aid their allies as they attempt to take this area from the civilian militias that oppose the foreign invaders. However, the Bahraini regime’s military is no stranger to foreigners; after all, their army is comprised of several thousand non-indigenous soldiers that were granted citizenship in an attempt by the Khalifa regime to combat public dissent amongst the predominately Shi’i population that lives in poverty while the ruling family enjoys their luxurious palaces and plundered wealth. Bahrain joins their fellow wealthy Gulf brethren in waging war against the poorest country in the Middle East, despite having their own issues domestically. More foreign soldiers are expected to reinforce the Saudi-led Coalition forces and the Hadi loyalists in the coming days as they intensify their assault on southern Yemen.
