Field sources told al-Manar that at least 86 soldiers, including Saudi commanders and mercenaries, were killed when the army and the popular committees launched a Syrian-made Qaher-1 missile on a military base in Safer in Marib. The missile destroyed many Apache helicopters as well as several tanks, the sources added. Meanwhile, 79 soldiers were killed in another Qaher-1 attack on a military gathering for the aggression forces in Tawwal border crossing, the sources added. LoooSeR Posted December 21, 2015 Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 Yemeni missiles hit Saudi airport Yemeni Army ballistic missiles targeted a Saudi airport in the southern Red Sea province of Jizan today. A military source confirmed to Yemen’s Khabar News Agency that the ballistic missile hit its target accurately, leaving a great deal of damage to the airport. A ceasefire was meant to take place six days ago but Saudi-coalition forces quickly broke the truce within days whilst devastating civilian areas. The Houthis and Yemeni Army have fought back to defend itself against the aggression, rendering the ceasefire useless and ineffective. Source: DigitalGlobe/Google Earth Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have both acquired Chinese-made unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to meet urgent operational requirements arising from their military intervention in Yemen, it was revealed during a panel discussion held by the Atlantic Council think tank on 8 December. "The drones the UAE is using in Yemen are Chinese because they failed to get US approval," US Marine Corps General (retired) James L Jones said. Gen Jones served as National Security Advisor in 2009-2010 and is now affiliated with the Atlantic Council. Nawaf Obaid, a former advisor to the Saudi ambassadors to the United Kingdom and the United States, immediately added "that is true, us too", indicating Saudi Arabia has also acquired Chinese UAVs because it could not obtain US ones. "[The UAVs are] an example of things we could have done, but we didn't do, and now people who are more agile have been able to send drones to the UAE," Jones said. "We have a serious problem in the way and the speed with which we come to the aid of our friends and allies with equipment." The third member of the panel, Barry Pavel, the director of the Atlantic Council's Scowcroft Center, agreed, saying, "All our Gulf partners want US weapons, they are the best in the world … but it is a really, really difficult process [to obtain them]. If you can't get that wonderful jewel on the shelf, but you can get fake jewellery that still does the job, you are going to start to go in that direction because you are in active operations and you need this equipment." "We need to get our act together, streamline and make our processes more effective," Pavel added. When asked about the problems in the US arms export process, Jones identified the end-use monitoring agreements system as "something that most of our allies really dislike". While these aforementioned forces concentrate on the battle for southern Yemen, the Yemeni Al-Qaeda group “Ansar Al-Sharia” and their allies from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) have quietly expanded their presence in eastern and southern Yemen, leaving many of the armed groups unprepared for these jihadist militant groups. Making matters worse for the Hadi loyalists and their allies from the Saudi-led Coalition is the recent advances made by the Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard and the Houthis inside of Saudi Arabia’s southern countryside. Since their capture of Al-Rabuah in early November, the Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard and the Houthis have seized several other sites inside of Saudi Arabia’s Jizan region, despite lacking the aerial assets and manpower for a full scale invasion. Earlier today, the Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard – backed by their popular committees and the Houthis – imposed full control over Jabal Al-Shokal (Shoka Mountains) after an intense battle with the Saudi-led Coalition forces and the Hadi Loyalists in southern Yemeni province of Mareb. Jabal Al-Shoka is situated just outside of the strategic city of Ta’iz in the Mareb Governorate; it was recently contested by the Saudi-led Coalition and the Hadi Loyalists until they sustained heavy casualties en route to a mass retreat south. Yesterday, the Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard and the Houthis seized Jabal Al-Aswad from the Saudi-led Coalition, leaving several enemy combatants dead and their weapons confiscated by the resistance forces. LoooSeR Posted December 28, 2015 Report Share Posted December 28, 2015 Yemeni Army advances inside of Saudi Arabia as Coalition Forces struggle to maintain ground The Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard and the Houthis have been on a roll inside of Saudi Arabia as of late, capturing several sites belonging to the Saudi Royal Army and their allies from the Arab Coalition Forces that are made-up of several impoverished nations and western mercenaries hired by the Saudi and Emirati royal families. On Saturday afternoon in Saudi Arabia’s southern countryside, the Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard and the Houthis carried out several attacks on the city of Najran, killing a number of Saudi National Guardsmen while also advancing north towards the latter’s final line of defense. If the Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard and the Houthis capture Najran from the Saudi-led Coalition Forces; this would become the 3rd Saudi city under their control and perhaps the most embarrassing defeat for the Saudi Royal Army since the loss of Al-Rabuah in October of this year. In addition to their advance in Saudi Arabia’s southern countryside, the Houthis and the Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard repelled the massive assault launched by the Saudi-led Coalition Forces at the Al-Jawf Governorate in southern Yemen. Making matters worse for the Saudi-led Coalition Forces, the commander of one of the Hadi Loyalist militias – Hafezh Ahmad Humayd Al-Habari – was reportedly killed in the Mareb Governorate after clashing with the Houthis. LoooSeR Posted December 28, 2015 Report Share Posted December 28, 2015 7,411 Yemeni civilians reportedly killed by Saudi Arabia this year A local monitoring group called “Yemen Fights Back” has released a statistical report that documents the death of 7,411 Yemeni civilians as a result of the aggressive war waged by the Saudi-led Coalition of Arab countries. The report detailed the death of 4,373 men, 1,309 women, and 1,729 children from the dates of March 26th, 2015 – December 12th, 2015; meanwhile, another 13,846 men, women and children were reportedly wounded by the Saudi-led Coalition. In addition to this high death toll, over 900,000 Yemeni civilians have been reportedly displaced and 319,957 homes destroyed. On average, almost 29 people are killed every day because of this war waged by the rich Gulf countries and their loyal allies that are part of the Arab League. The Saudi regime is attempting to reinstall the exiled Yemeni president, ‘Abd Rubbah Hadi Mansour, back into power; however, local militias and soldiers from the Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard have proven much tougher than they previously anticipated when they launched this war. Currently, the Yemeni capital is fully under the control of the Houthis and the Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard – they have also entered the southern countryside of Saudi Arabia and seized a number of sites from the coalition forces.
