The Houthi forces, backed by Saleh loyalists and Yemeni Republican Guard units, liberated a large chunk of the Al-Lahj Governorate on Friday after launching a new offensive this week in southern Yemen.

Houthi forces and their allies began the day by liberating the Al-Jah Mountains and the nearby village of Ka’bin after an intense battle with the Hadi loyalists and Saudi-led Coalition in northern Al-Lahj.

Following the liberation of these aforementioned sites, the Houthi forces and their allies advanced to the Jalas Mountains, where they are currently attempting to take control of this area from the Hadi loyalists.

If the Houthi forces can seize the Jalas Mountains, they will be in position to strike the strategic Al-‘Anad Military Base, which is considered the headquarters for the Saudi-led Coalition in Al-Lahj.

Houthi forces cutoff key government supply line to Sanaa

Capture3.jpg

The Houthi forces, backed by the Yemeni Republican Guard and Saleh units, captured the Marib-Jawf Crossroad on Saturday morning after a violent battle with the Saudi-backed Hadi loyalists.

The Marib-Jawf Crossroad was part of the main supply route for the Hadi loyalists in the Sanaa Governorate; its loss leaves several pro-government units trapped in the Nihm District.

More importantly, the capture of the Marib-Jawf Crossroad gives the Houthi forces an imperative boost near the Marib Governorate border; this will be important in the coming weeks as they push towards the provincial capital.

Houthi forces surround key capital city in northern Yemen

Al-Jawf, Yemen (6:50 A.M.) The Houthis, backed by Saleh forces, captured 8 points in the Aqrab region of the Al-Jawf Governorate this morning after an intense firefight with the Hadi loyalists near the key city of Al-Hazm.

As a result of these latest gains in the Aqrab region this morning, the Houthi forces and their allies have now surrounded Al-Hazm, which is the provincial capital of the Al-Jawf Governorate.

Meanwhile, in the Sanaa Governorate, the Houthi forces and Hadi loyalists are involved in a fierce battle near the Doud Mountains inside the contested Nihm District.

Saudi warplanes have reportedly launched several airstrikes over the Nihm District to prevent the Houthi forces from advancing further east; however, they have done very little to forestall the anti-government forces.
