Current helmets do no better (or worse in some area) than WW1 helmets at preventing shockwave induced injury.     The conclusions aren't really surprising, geometry, choice of mat

Some examples of some experimental Japanese body armor from the 1930s and 1940s, all from this page (Google chrome can make a reasonable translation of the text).   A 'tortoise shield', appa

Those fasemasks are pretty usefull for dealing with riots, i guess.

This photos are not about german riot-control police (BePo) but SWAT like team. So such gears are not design to cope with.

Schuberth introduced a mandible to complete the P100F anti-riot helmet visor.

It works well.

The P100 helmet is the best riot-control helmet today.

It's  RUSSIA.  You'd think they'd field more tanks (and I mean HEAVY tanks), APC' AFV's, and volumes of arty and CAS that'd make the GDP of some countrys look tiny.

Instead it's"Ho-Ho,robocop two"  and the femoral, and the mass of arteries and veins in the shoulder  is still exposed.

Not that NATO or the U.S. is offering much better.

Usually such things are created by an artist contracted by a company that want to put something eye-catching on their stand on some expo. It looks like something from Crysis 2 game.

Artists are bad at armor designs. This one in particular have no protection of his stomach, haha.
