Uralvagonzavod (a part of JSC Concern Uralvagonzavod is a part of the State Corporation Rostec) sent a batch of modernized T-72B3 tanks to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

/.../

Thermal imaging channels of Russian production are not inferior in their characteristics to previously installed foreign ones.

T-72B3s are being equipped with Russian-made (or mostly-Russian made) thermal imagers.

Vietnam is going to buy number of T-72MS tanks (aka White Eagle)

Vietnamese resources report that in an article published in June 2020 in the local party press, the head of the technical department of the armored forces of the Vietnamese People's Army (VNA) Colonel Do Van Diep said that the task of his administration for the period until 2025, in particular, is "to organize training, operation, use, mastering of new models of armored vehicles (T-90S / SK, T-72MS) ". The text also indicates that two new separate tank brigades (3rd and 4th) are being formed as part of the VNA, which are to be equipped with new equipment.

If Vietnam's receipt of T-90S / SK tanks is already well known, then this statement by Colonel Do Van Dieppe also indicates that, apparently, Vietnam will also become (or has already become?) A customer in Russia for modernized T-72MS tanks ("Object 184- 1MS "), also known as the" White Eagle ".

Recall that the modernization of the T-72B1 tanks from the availability to the version of the T-72MS for foreign customers is carried out by JSC "61 armored repair plant" (Strelna, St. Petersburg). This version of the modernization of T-72 tanks under the index "Object (product) 184-1MS" was developed within the framework of the R&D "Proryv-2G" in the early 2010s jointly by JSC "VNIITransmash" "61 armored repair plant" by order of OJSC "Oboronservice".

A prototype of the T-72B1 tank, modernized according to this version, was first demonstrated in June 2012 at the Second International Forum "Technologies in Mechanical Engineering 2012" held in Zhukovsky, receiving the nickname "White Eagle" for its unusual white color.

In 2015, JSC Rosoboronexport signed the first contract for the supply of 50 T-72MS tanks to Nicaragua, where they were delivered in 2016-2017. In 2018-2019, the delivery of T-72MS tanks to Laos was carried out, and since the end of October 2020, 30 T-72MS tanks were transferred by the Russian side to Serbia.

The T-72MS tanks are probably the most advanced serially modernized T-72 tanks in Russia. The tanks upgraded according to this option are equipped with a round-the-clock gunner's sight PN-72 ("Sosna-U" produced by the Belarusian OJSC Peleng), a commander's round-the-clock panoramic sight PKP-72 with 3rd generation thermal imager - apparently Thales Catherine XP), automatic target tracking BARV.468939.001, chassis information and control system, navigation system, new cannon stabilizer, as well as anti-aircraft machine gun mount with remote control. At the same time, the old ERA (Kontact-1) is retained.

Tankers of the Central Military District are mastering new BMPT "Terminator", which came to them for trial operation. They study all the combat capabilities of combat vehicles and test them in action.

   Angry noises.mp4

UVZ is still pushing their overweight and infantry-less BMP surrogate into Army service.

Also note how wobbly barrels are, part of gases escaping from muzzle brakes are pushing barrels around, definely making them more accurate, lol.

They should swap the 2A42s for 2A72s and see how much that helps.

If they mount them with guide rails, then why not. Otherwise, its not a good idea. 2A72 is horribly inaccurate, except for single shots.

Anyway, this whole vehicle is a mess. Maybe it has some limited uses in urban warfare, but in the environment shown in the video, it is far inferior to any normal tank. Whole vehicle is quite poorly designed. The old Objekt-781 prototypes were much better, but sadly, they were made by another design bureu, so UVZ couldnt say that "its our product". Even these prototypes were only useful in urban warfare, but in my opinion, they were perfectly suited for that, especially the two prototypes which had the twin separate gun turrets. They passed state tests but the collapse of SU prevented their entry to service.

Which is why I suggested it as a joke, hence the /s sarcasm tag.  Guide rails sound like they would help, but I think we both agree that something greater than two 30mms would be more desirable.
