So couple of close up photos of this truck appeared. It was first filmed by ISIS in their ATGM attacks video. Vehicle is moded Ural "Schuka" with probably 14.5 mm KPVT RCWS on top used by Russian PMC during Palmyra operation. According to RSOTM both crew members made it alive, vehicle burned down some time later after driving 400 meters away from place of hit (thanks to lots of ammo inside it burned down completely).

From same video - small part about Uran-9.

I don't understand the need to make a single platform that does everything ok, but nothing really well. I thought everyone realized this when the North Korean's started putting both ATGM's and MANPADS on their MBTs. Let's say you send one of these out to patrol with a few infantry squads and it gets destroyed. Congrats, now your fire support, air defense, and anti-tank power are gone from a single RPG/IED.

Overspecialised vehicles will have more problems in enviroment where you don't have 100% sure knowledge of what type of problems your vehicle will find. This is one of reasons why tanks have more than 1 type of rounds avaliable for them and thats why we don't see tanks that can fire only APFSDS or only HE shells. Same with armor - AFV/tanks armor is usually designed against both kinetic projectiles and chemical type of warheads

So there is a merit for such weapon set up - this vehicle is supposed to be on the frontline, which means it can meet infantry and enemy AFVs, and when exactly it will fight with 1 of them or both is not always clear. Thermobaric RPGs and ATGMs doesn't sound too bad to have with you in that case. And i'm not even talking about ATGM use against infantry, as Syria shown, it is not something unusual.

In case of NK tank, this example maybe not what will happen in reality. Infantry also can carry same ATGMs and MANPADS, and tank weaponry could be just an addiotion. Or there could be other AFVs that specialised on AT or AA role. It is always a good idea to not have bottlenecks in your firepower output.

The first unit equipped with attack robots will be created in the Russian army. This was reported to reporters at the Ministry of Defense.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Friday checked the fulfillment of the state defense order of JSC "766th Department of Production and Technological Completion (UPTK)", where robotic systems for various purposes are developed and produced.

"As the Chief of the General Staff of the Ground Forces Vasily Tonkoshkurov reported to the Minister of Defense, the first unit with combat robots will be created in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which will include five robotic complexes Uran-9 and 20 combat vehicles," the department said.

As explained in the Ministry of Defense, "to develop methods and forms of using units with robotic systems, an experimental unit is being formed on the basis of one of the research centers of the Ministry of Defense." "Then, on the basis of this center, personnel will be trained, which in the future, within the framework of the units, will operate the Uran-9 strike robotic systems in combat units," the ministry added.

The Ministry of Defense clarified that earlier "Uran-9" were used only as separate complexes. The combat robot "Uran-9" is produced by the 766th UPTK.

T-90A protection

KE 715-725mm, CE 1100mm

Useless metrics as Weidzmin shown, and especially if it is made using Soviet methods. IIRC Militarista noted that numbers can differ, ~5% lower than "Western".

Same layered armor package covered with heavy ERA can offer very different protection ratings against different shell designs.
