Belesarius
http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/barracuda-is-supposedly-the-stealthy-interceptor-boat-t-1717569231 This thing looks pretty badass. Could totally see the SEALs buying these.
xthetenth
Wonder how big the radar return it kicks up when any spray gets flying.
Donward
Perfect for fishing over the line... Belesarius
Collimatrix
Yeah, gotta agree with the author about the stealth. It's probably got some "free" RCS reduction just because they made it out of composites instead of metal. The other stealth features look dubious. But it looks like it's supposed to be a fast, sound boat first and stealthy second.
Toxn
And of course it's painted in tacticool black. Throw in a yokel on an top-mounted .50 cal and you're set.
Donward
Give this boat to our Middle East allies. Watch as they get taken out/captured by Somalis in a Johnson outboard powered skiff toting an RPG or AK.
xthetenth
Hey now, they haven't messed up that badly since the Eliat. Or is it the "allies" where we really definitely need to keep in mind that they're our coalition partners and not our allies.
Donward
Well, I wasn't trying to give an exact definition of "ally". Rather I was casting about for the equivalent of a Toyota HiLux pickup of nautical third world. A motorized dhow with a Mercury kicker? Toxn
No, that's pretty bespoke*. I'd say the Toyota Hilux equivalents are those shitty fibreglass skiffs with a Japanese outboard bolted to the back. * Fun fact: When I had a holiday in Zanzibar (many years ago) I was lucky enough to stay right next to an honest-to-god dhow-making shipyard. Their biggest model cost about $3000 and was made entirely from Rhodesian Teak imported from the mainland.

It's a toyota hilux with an outboard on the back (classic top gear time) Donward
