RobotMinisterofTrueKorea
As a resident of Richmond, I would have loved to have seen the Henry Kaiser Shipyard and Mare Island Shipyards operating at full swing during the war. The sight had to be absolutely incredible.
Belesarius
Not a ship photo, but interesting Naval news. French Navy has appointed the first female commanding officer. Commander Claire Pothier took commander of Guéprate (F714). http://worlddefencenews.blogspot.ca/2016/01/french-navy-appointed-first-female.html

RobotMinisterofTrueKorea
When I was doing research for work, we covered some of the local Shipyard stuff. I'm eager to see that when it finally comes out. Jeeps_Guns_Tanks

Collimatrix
Delay coils?
xthetenth
Looks like pairs and singletons (I think) so that'd square with up to date delay coils. Either that or an early install predating them really figuring out turret whip. First experiments with coils were in 35 so I'd expect a SoDak to have later coils. Donward
In non-warship related news, the largest cargo ship ever to make port in the United States will be docking at the Port of Seattle this Monday. Given my schedule, I'll probably be able to drive near it on Tuesday. http://mynorthwest.com/174/2921322/Giant-container-ship-headed-to-Seattle It's 1,300 feet long, 180 wide and holds 18,000 cans (shipping containers). Apparently it has already made a call at the Port of Long Beach in California.
