And about Kuweiris airforces base. I suspect it will be used relatively soon as base of Russian/Syrian airforces. We will use it for Mi-24s and Mi-8s/17s, if it would be us to work in thise military airport.

Kuweires Military Airport Officially Secure as the Syrian Army Captures Kaskays Village

Moments ago, the Syrian Arab Army’s 2nd Division – in coordination with Hezbollah, Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps – captured the integral village of Kaskays in the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside after a series of intense firefights with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).

According to a battlefield journalist entrenched with the Syrian Arab Army’s 2nd Division in east Aleppo, the Syrian Armed Forces imposed full control over Kaskays at 10:30 A.M. (Damascus Time), resulting in ISIS’ complete withdrawal to the small village of ‘Aqlat ‘Aqulah; this aforementioned site is located directly south of Kaskays.

With the capture of Kaskays this morning and the village of Rasm Abboud yesterday, the Syrian Armed Forces have completely secured the Kuweires Military Airport’s southern perimeter; which, in turn, has resulted in the Syrian Armed Forces officially securing the entire airbase from the terrorist group that once besieged it for several years.

Following the capture of Kaskays, the Syrian Arab Army’s 2nd Division and their allies have now advanced to the village of ‘Aqlat ‘Aqulah, where they will attempt to push the ISIS terrorist further away from the Kuweires Military Airport.

The loss of the Kuweires Military Airport is just the beginning of their follies, as ISIS has suffered several defeats around Syria these last few weeks and it appears for the first time that they are spread too thin.

Syrian Army Declares Fire Control Over the Strategic Homs-Damascus Highway

Over the last six weeks, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard (Special Forces) has attempted to capture several vital points along the strategic Homs-Damascus Highway in order to reopen this government supply route that was obstructed by the Islamist rebels of “Jaysh Al-Islam” (Army of Islam) in early September.

While, it has not been an easy battle for the them, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade has successfully recaptured almost every site lost to Jaysh Al-Islam, leaving only 300 meters left to capture in order to roll back all of the Islamist rebel gains along the Homs-Damascus Highway in the East Ghouta region of rural east Damascus.

On Sunday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) 0f Damascus and the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) – took control of another hilltop that overlooks the village of Tal Kurdi in the Douma countryside; this aforementioned site allowed the Islamist rebels to pick-off vehicles traveling along the highway.

As a result of this successful operation on Sunday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade has declared the Homs-Damascus Highway under the fire-control of the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies.

According to a military source inside the Syrian capital, the recent declaration of fire-control means that the Homs-Damascus Highway is only open to the Syrian Armed Forces; it is not open to the public, despite Jaysh Al-Islam’s withdrawal from the southern and northern flanks of this highway.

More about recent SAA push in Latakia province.

http://www.almasdarnews.com/article/syrian-army-captures-several-hilltops-and-villages-on-the-idlib-latakia-border/

Syrian Army Captures Several Hilltops and Villages on the Idlib-Latakia Border

The Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard is on a roll in northeastern Latakia, capturing several sites from the Free Syrian Army’s “Liwaa Suqour Al-Ghaab”, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” at the Latakia-Idlib axis that borders the Jisr Al-Shughour District (Islamist rebel stronghold).

On Sunday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Qurdaha, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), and Muqawama Souri (Syrian Resistance) – launched an assault on Raweesat Iskendar in the Latakia Governorate’s northeastern countryside, targeting the Islamist rebel defenses at Point 1143 and Point 1149 inside this village on the Latakia-Idlib axis.

Following a series of intense firefights with the Islamist rebels, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade and their allies imposed full control over Point 1143 and Point 1149 en route to their capture of Raweesat Iskendar in Jabal Al-Akrad (Kurdish Mountains).

In addition to their success at Raweesat Iskendar, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd brigade and their allies imposed full control over the villages of Beit Abu Risha and Katf Al-Sa’our in Jabal Al-Akrad after a fierce battle with Jabhat Al-Nusra, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and Liwaa Suqour Al-Ghaab.

To conclude the day, the Syrian Armed Forces conducted one final on the Islamist rebel defenses at Kabani to the north of Raweesat Iskendar, seizing this village after Jabhat Al-Nusra withdrew from their posts in order to evade the swarming Russian MI-24 Hind Helicopter Gunships.

Looks like recent days are not as "thick" in news from frontlines as earlier, during SW Aleppo attack and breakthrough to M5 highway.

I think forces are rearming, preparing for next push. Probably we should expect pushes either near Latakia/Al-Ghab plains (near Turkish border), or in SW Aleppo (better forces on the ground, way to helicopters base and surrounded cities in small Shia enclave or action along M5 highway).

Several videos appeared from SW of Aleppo with terrorists using TOWs. Now i think Latakia push has more chances to be chosen.

Breaking: Syrian Army Captures Tal Syriatel and Jabal Ma’ar in Western Palmyra

Moments ago, the Syrian Arab Army’s 67th Brigade and their 550th Regiment of the 18th Tank Division – in coordination with National Defense Forces (NDF) of Homs City and  Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade) – announced the capture of Tal Syriatel and Jabal Ma’ar outside the city of Palmyra (Tadmur) after a series of intense firefights with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) in the vast desert landscape of the Homs Governorate’s eastern countryside.

According to a military source inside the provincial capital of the Homs Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army’s 67th Brigade and their allies imposed full control over Tal Syriatel and Jabal Ma’ar after overrunning ISIS’ defenses with their heavy armory, resulting in the terrorist group’s massive retreat from the aforementioned hilltops that overlook Palmyra’s west district.

The military source also added that over 25 ISIS combatants were reportedly killed during these battles, including Jamal Jassim Al-Murhi, Hussein Qassem Ghareeb, Mohammad Faysal Yasseen, Mohammad Thabet Al-Shughri, Radwan Issa Abu Qa’qa’, Wassim Yousif Khodor, ‘Umar Qandil Al-Muslimiyah, and Mahmoud Najib Nasser.
