Hezbollah Ambushes Jabhat Al-Nusra in Jaroud Arsal

 

   Hezbollah has struck again; this time, they caught a group of militants from the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” traveling along a seasonal road in the Wadi Al-Khayl region of the Arsal Barrens, killing 2 enemy combatants and injuring 5 others from the aforementioned Islamist group. 

 

   As a result of their Summer offensive in the Qalamoun and Zabadani Mountains of rural Damascus, Hezbollah was able to take control of almost the entire Syrian-Lebanese border, leaving only Jaroud Qarah and Jaroud Rankous under Jabhat Al-Nusra and the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s control.

 

   With most of the Lebanese border under their control, Hezbollah has successfully weakened both Jabhat Al-Nusra and ISIS in Lebanon, while also trapping them in the vast Qalamoun Mountains of rural Damascus.

Kuwait Busts ISIL Multinational Terrorist Cell

 

   Kuwaiti authorities have dismantled an international cell of the Takfiri group, ISIL (so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Levant), local media reported.

 

   The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry said on Thursday that six people from different nationalities — a Lebanese, an Egyptian, a Kuwaiti, and three Syrians — were arrested, the official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

 

   The Lebanese citizen, identified as Osama Khayat, is said to be the ringleader.

 

   He has confessed to recruiting militants for ISIL and raising money that was transferred to ISIL bank accounts in Turkey, KUNA said, adding that Khayat also supplied weapons via Turkey to top Takfiri militants operating in Syria.

 

   One of the Syrian detainees was an arms dealer for Daesh while another was in charge of finances and communication, police said.

 

   The ministry, meanwhile, added that two Syrians and two Australian-Lebanese nationals are still on the loose.

 

   Earlier this year, a bomb explosion at a mosque in the capital, Kuwait City, left over two dozen people dead and more than 200 others injured. ISIL terrorists claimed responsibility for the attack.

ISIS Strikes Back at Maheen: Terrorist Group Recaptures Hawareen

 

   The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) has struck back against the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Sadad, and the Assyrian “Gozarto Protection Forces” (Sootooro) inside the strategic town of Maheen after a series of intense for firefights in the Homs Governorate’s eastern countryside.

 

   According to a field source in the city of Sadad, ISIS has recaptured the Maheen Orchards, the village of Hawareen and the strategic hilltop at Tal Daher; this paved the way for them to advance to the village of Al-Hadath.

 

   The military source added that the firefights are still ongoing between the Syrian Armed Forces and ISIS at Al-Hadath – he stated that reports of ISIS taking control of this village are all false.

Rebel Counter-Assault at Sheikh Miskeen Ends in Disaster: Two Dozen Killed

 

 

   On Thursday morning in the northern Dara’a countryside, the Free Syrian Army’s “Al-Khalifa’ Al-Rashideen Battalion” of 1st Brigade launched a large-scale counter-assault inside the strategic city of Sheikh Miskeen in order force the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division to exit the west district.

 

   However, the Syrian Arab Army’s 15th Brigade of the 5th Armored Division had other plans for the Islamic rebels from the Free Syrian Army’s 1st Brigade, striking the encroaching enemy combatants with a powerful blow that forced the aforementioned Islamist group to retreat towards the east district in order to evade the Syrian Armed Forces and the swarming helicopter gunships from the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF).

 

   According to a battlefield report from the 5th Armored Division in the city of Izra’a, the Syrian Arab Army’s 15th Brigade was able to forestall any advance from the Free Syrian Army and they reportedly killed between 24-30 enemy combatants in the process of clearing the area.

 

   Recently, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5thArmored Division has concentrated on the city of Sheikh Miskeen after they conceded it to the Free Syrian Army’s 1st Brigade and Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda) last year.

 

   Over the course of a week, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division has recovered several sites around the city of Sheikh Miskeen, including the Water Pump Factory, Battalion 82 Engineering Base, and Al-Dilli.

Turkey protested against the Russian air strikes in Syria  (posted ~10 minutes ago)

 

   Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned the ambassador of Russia to protest about the "intensive" bombing of Syrian Turkmens settlements by Russian aircrafts in northern Syria. This was stated by Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, reports Reuters. 

   Turkish Foreign Ministry made a statement in which he said that the attacks on settlements of Turkmens in Syria "can have serious consequences," and called for an immediate end to the operation.
