So one of our youtube game journalist managed to get to Atomic Heart developers and play technical build of the game for ~3.5-4 hours.

In short - game is glitchy and have bugs, he played through Unreal editor. He played several small locations and one "medium". Several weapons, few enemies and basic game mechanics are working and in the game. Game is being developed by team of ~50 people, they have financial support. They are not too open and don't want to show unfinished builds in order to keep adv. campaign and general audience attention with high quality stuff. Most of visual stuff that were shown in trailers is in the game.

Game is immersive sim with elements of melee brawler, FPS, looter shooter, puzzle game, plus deep narrative/plot with cutscenes and characters on top of all that. Think about Bioshock mixed with Stalker.

3 big open world locations are planned, number of small puzzle-orientated locations and introduction locations. 3 big zones will have on the ground and underground areas, all those areas within one open world location are planned to be seamlessly uploaded during gameplay (without loading screen).

In areas you will encounter enemies (different types), which will require different way to deal with them. Melee is rythm-based, feels ok in presented build. Guns are generic, there is ammo shortage that will play into how you deal with enemies. Weapons can be upgraded (via looting and upgrade shops).

Enemy faction have interesting structure. On the level there are cameras placed in important areas, they will rise alarm when they see you. During alarm,  some number of "bees" robots will arrive and will fight with you and slowly repair enemies you destroyed (including cameras). Bees will come from special "hive" system wich have limited number of bees drones. Hive can be hacked (not in current build), effects of hacking is in discussion within developers team.

This security system is powered by generators, which could be turned off. All that structure (security system, power system) is a part of bigger centralized AI, it will react to player's action - amount of "noise" you make in area will trigger a response and more robots would be dispatched to that area. Currently exact reactions are not in the game.

Main idea behind game mechanics is to make game replayable and each playthrough to be different to some degree.

Bosses are planned, not implemented yet. Plot is finished, have interesting twists and turns, according to journalist.

Overal i'm know catiously optimistic, but i'm worried that all systems that they planned are sounding cool but their implementation could suck or be underdeveloped, like with Stalker A-Life system. Also worried by a fact that they still don't have working bosses, some of weapons, main locations, several game mechanics related to player abilities and etc.
