Mohamed A
A thread about the Fallout series. Although it's in a sorry state now, I hope it somehow improves later. Fallout NV was a good step, but Fallout 4 doesn't look very promising. also, I'll post some of my images here. Fly.. Toxn
I dunno - I managed to love fallout 1, 2 and 3 but (only) liked New Vegas. Wasteland 2 didn't do much for me either, so I am a confirmed heretic of the church of the bomb.

Toxn
It was meant to re-start the franchise without the new owners (Bethesda) treading on the toes of all the old fans by covering ground black isle would have. Obsidian (which is essentially black isle 2.0) was allowed to go back to the old well under Bethesda's supervision. I think it all worked out pretty well, personally. LostCosmonaut
3 was decent, but liked New Vegas a lot more. Have 1&2 on my computer, but have yet to play them. I should get around to that sometime. I'll probably get 4, but not for a month or two. Want to give some of the (inevitable) bugs time to get worked out. Sturgeon
3 is irredeemable garbage. NV is playable. 1 & 2 are totally different games, and much better (though like many games of their generation, they suffer from severe clunk). 4 has a really nice trailer (alien stretch-armstrong dog excluded). So did Skyrim, Oblivion, and Fallout 3. All were terrible wastes (pun!) of time. 4 will suck because Bethesda brings people into stores ike you wouldn't believe but can't actually make a good game to save their lives. Sturgeon
It seriously absofuckinglutely shocked me how Bethesda had the gall to release Skyrim when it was so obviously unfinished. It was basically just a devkit with a demo attached. There are whole unfinished segments of the game lying around in the code, to the degree that modders have actually taken to finishing Bethesda's fucking game for them. If you thought that gerrperrscherrs were the only fucking thing that could get me droning on and on for hours like Alex Jones about the New World Order, then you haven't fucking asked me what I think about Skyrim. It's because they told people it was getting released at that date. Stupid excuse since they could delay it but meh.. But hey, I got Skyrim's Legendary Edition for like 13 USD. That's not bad for a modding platform. Though if they fucking repeat it in Fallout 4... One tip btw, turn your brain off while playing it, and expect to be playing shit. That way, the stupid stuff won't hit you too hard.
Brick Fight
I take Bethesda's games for what they are: Just a chance to walk around a world and find interesting stuff. They're good winter games, the type where I'm stuck indoors and just want to wander around and occasionally kill a thing or two when I get home at weird times of the day.. I liked FO1, couldn't get into 2, loved 3, and sort of liked NV (never played Tactics). That said, Bethesda usually has some of the worst writers and voice acting in gaming, which is odd because they have some of the best "un-"writing out there. There's stuff like the terrible opening sequence to Skyrim, but then interesting level designs that tell more about stuff like the Falmer and Dwarves than loads dialogue could. I'm looking forward to 4, though I'm still kind of weirded out by the presentation. A lot of it looks like a departure for both Fallout and Bethesda. CDProjektRed should really pay me for how much I shill for them: Witcher 3 has totally ruined my chances of enjoying anything Bethesda's putting out. I wrinkled my nose at Skyrim before, but now that I've played Witcher 3 and have seen what a real RPG is like, I can't even deign to consider them in the same class. Oh sure, this sounds all high and mighty of me, but seriously, play Witcher 3. It's not perfect, and it's not the most amazing artistic experience in the world, but it's like if for some reason "car" manufacturers kept releasing horse carriages with revamped body styles every year and then all the sudden, BAM, somebody makes a Hyundai. Brick Fight
I've played the first two, and I'm not really a fan. Maybe it's because I have kind of a fucked up schedule and literally fell asleep once while playing Witcher 2, but I couldn't get into them. The dialogue and the weird PC RPG fetish for layers of menus are a big turn-off for me. I've heard Witcher 3 is a massive improvement, and I'll take a look next time it's on sale, but my hopes aren't high after the first two. I've just never been into complexity for the sake of in PC RPGs, and the smugness of its players for having memorized the wiki. I never really viewed Oblivion-and-forward (and sort of Morrowind) as RPGs, more like action-adventures with RPG elements, which is why I dug them so much. Sure, I could go into menus and start doing crafting to make potions and spells, but I didn't have to if I didn't want to and/or achieved such things by exploring dungeons and the like. You can call me a thickie who can't appreciate a good PC RPG, but I won't call the Witcher series and games like it bad, they just don't appeal to me. Mohamed A
Witcher 3 made me realize how shit my GPU is. Finally a game I cannot literally run. Metro? Can run it. 3 FPS. Skyrim? 10 FPS. 0.5 FPS when fully modded and ENB is active. But no worries, I only play it for screenshots now. etc. But Witcher 3... no. I didn't try it though, but looking at how it looks and the minimum specifications.. nah.

Witcher 3 is completely different from 1 and 2. 2 is a "good" game, but 3 is totally transformative. Imagine 2 as like, a really nice air-conditioned carriage with some quirks, as per the example above. 1 is a "good" game if you're a weird sperglord or already into the franchise (it's a pre-existing book series). Even if you absolutely fucking hated the first two, I'd say to give 3 a try, at least. Rent it or whatever.
Mohamed A
It took HOURS to set this up correctly and I did not get his right arm to look correctly. I was too frustrated at that time. The amount of cursing I gave to Gamebryo... pfft..
Mohamed A
This took around 6 - 7 tries iirc. I don't fully remember, but I had tons of fun doing it so I didn't mind.

My rig is not the newest, but I started with a good GPU, and I've kept it supplied with plenty of RAM, so it runs most things well. Someday, someday, I will get around to installing that SSD... Someday, someday, I will get around to installing that SSD... I don't. I have a desktop. It's just outdated by today's standards. [Core to Quad, ATI HD 5450, etc etc] Though the PSU suffered a problem, so I am now using a business laptop. The only issue is that they might be using it as an excuse to release shitty stuff. Also the paid mods stuff. ---
Sturgeon
Since we're on the subject, what's the deal with modding FNV? I haven't modded Bethesda in ages, so is there a convenient mod manager or what?It might be refreshing to play a roided up version of FNV.
