If I had an argument for this issue, it would be based around not tearing down established culture for the sake of
appeasing Satandoing so. Sacrificing men to defend women is the way our society has worked for thousands of years, and I don't see any compelling reason to go through all the pain and agony of a cultural shakedown just to change that. Interestingly, the thong-biters have decided to scour the concepts of glory and honor first, leaving men a bunch of listless, disenfranchised layabouts, since that was the justification for them doing anything in the first place.
So one wouldn't send a woman into combat except as a last resort, just the same as one wouldn't gobble down the afterbirth of their firstborn child as a rite of vitality and long life. Our culture doesn't accept that, and it's nobody's business to tear down what's already been built and isn't broken.
If I had an argument, I said. I don't, because I too ride this suicide-sled of ancestors' bones down the great crumbling hill of progress, just like everyone else. -
Is this hellish contraption:
Discuss.

Memo Kosemen is a Turkish paleoartist, speczoo creative artist, and professional Weird Guy of Geigerian proportions, who is also known as nemo-ramjet online.. This thread is for appreciation of his mad, phallus-obsessed genius. First, we'll start with this excellent Facebook post:

First of all, if the intent was to troll me to participate here, it worked.
Huzzah for happy accidents!

Very little awfulness is actually new
Oh yeah, people have been donning black robes and prostrating themselves before statues of Baphomet for ages, but it's a matter of degree. There are some very serious things wrong with the scientific community, and there are people who have been alive long enough to remember when things weren't so bad. I'm certainly not going to tell them they're worried about nothing, certainly not when I see similar effects myself.

Hmmm? No, the one on the right very definitely is DBP-10. The DBP-10 jacket is made from the H90 gilding metal alloy, which that bullet has.
The confusion was over the other cartridge in the original source of that image, which is probably DBP-88, but I'm not sure. -
Jeeps, WTF did you do!?
-
Khand, looks like you made a mistake. I'm fairly certain the bullet on the right in this picture is actually DBP-10, please confirm/deny:
The two on the left are clearly DBP-87, but the ones on the right are consistent with the diagrams I've seen for the DBP-10. I was under the impression that the -88 was something else entirely.

If I remember right, the PLA placed an emphasis on accurate fire compared to other armies for quite a long time, do you think the 6mm range bullet is a reflection of that trend?
No. It's an attempt at a general purpose round to replace both 7.62x39 and 7.62x54R.

I'll give you another example: Climate science.
Alright, hold on a second, hear me out. I'm not a climatologist, and therefore I'm not qualified to comment on any technical details of climate science. Aside from all that, climate science has become so politically polarized that even asking people to explain what all this global warming stuff is about and expressing confusion over statements that appear to conflict or gel poorly to the novice eye will get you immediately treated as a persona non grata even in supposedly serious scientific circles.
It's ridiculously polarizing because it's been politicized. Whatever is actually going on, this isn't a scientifically enriching environment. -
He just gave you a very good example, X.

"Anasazi" is not PC anymore because it's too easily confused with "Ashkenazi", which is too easily confused with "Actual Nazi".
QED, Anasazis were Nazis. Checkmate, sociologists. -
Evidence of habitation is useful for territorial claims. Same reason china is making islands
Oh sure. That's less like "asserting your authority" than it is throwing a bunch of used condoms all over the place and saying "see, this is my bedroom!", though.
-
Oh, the Philippines, you so crazy.
Could someone please explain to me how deliberately running a ship aground and then filling it with personnel on five-month isolated shifts like some sort of bizarre post-apocalyptic carnival is "asserting your authority" over an area?

Long nights on TS with T___A and Unstart have got me looking for the worst in peoples' hovels. Nice placemat, though.

I don't know that it's accurate to call dismissal of Soviet technology a "McCarthyism". McCarthy seemed genuinely worried about the Soviets as a threat. Indeed, the Soviets at large made the Americans feel pretty insecure about their ideology and way of life for some time. I think the "all Soviet stuff is copied crap" comes later.
Not sure, though. -
Ah, I see Jeeps lives inside a cardboard box. I must get my hounds better kennels!

Anybody know how we can prevent that here?

Direct is basically what we have now, only SLS is worse in some ways. So basically, he got what he wanted.

So pretty soon we'll have enough grunt to just emulate them in software, meaning any games exclusive to a given console are now shared with PC?
Maybe. Interestingly, apparently last-gen console architecture is so screwy they're having a hard time emulating that, even though PCs today are many times more powerful than either the 360 or PS3 (both of which have about half a gig of RAM).

I have seen Damian on Tnet, but he is apparently renowned as a shitpoaster elsewhere. What's the scoop on him?

They have some truly great posters, but overall...

No, the left round is DBP-87.
