Why doesn't ZentiCo use 6061 aluminum for their rails/mounts etc? They seem to primarily use D16T (equivalent to 2024).
Why does ZenitCo use D16T where many other manufacturers would use 6061? -

Like @Ramlaen alluded to, there's a big incentive to adopt a new round. I detail this in two posts:
https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/07/15/addressing-overmatch-part-1-rule-nothing-no-one/It's a piece of shit. The A2 rises to merely "an uninspired, clunky, and acceptably reliable piece of shit", but it's still a POS.
He did not serve to my knowledge and he hasn't been a regular shooter since the 1970s or '80s based on what I've heard from him.
The UK ought to have phased it out instead of upgrading to the A2. IIRC, the A2 is merely so-so according to the documents Weapons Man (RIP) posted.
Ian's series on the SA80 prototypes and L85 family was fascinating. Have you watched BotR's two videos on the civilian SA80?
That might also help explain his love of bullpups. There seems to be a correlation (perhaps even a causation) between those who aren't 'shooters' and bullpup-fanboyism..."MOAR BARREL LENGTH FOR GIVEN OVERALL LENGTH IS GUDDER"
Does Williams have a STEM background or a background in the firearms industry? -

Or a financial interest in HK selling new service rifles, the odds of which greatly increase if 5.56 was phased out.
Yup
IIRC, there's supposed to be a 7.62x51 variant of the HK433, but they haven't shown a prototype yet. -

Can be called "Flash hider - suppressor MPI-Vityaz".
How many dB of sound suppression is it capable of (I didn't see anything on Delta-Tech's site)?

GPC proponent yes, bullpups not so much I think.
I don't think he's as biased against the L85 as I am, but moreso than Tony Williams is probably.Given his age and when he served, I'm not terribly surprised that he's a GPC proponent (and given that 'overmatch' is a hot-button issue, afterall, he is a marketer).
Why are you so (much more) biased against the L85?
Did Tony serve?
(His enthusiasm for bullpups seems to stem from the rudimentary quantitative data Janes etc. provides. How often does he shoot, and does he own firearms?) -

Correct, he served with the L1A1. I've had extensive conversations with him via email and he is pretty insistent on a projectile weight of at least 90 grains/6 grams.
Maybe a bias against 5.56 due to the L85-shitshowdumpsterfire then (?)
(IIRC, Radway Green 5.56 was pretty shitty too?)
Why so insistent on at least 90grains?
Is he a GPC proponent, a bullpup fanboy? -

I am by no means an expert but I am pretty sure SS109 fragments.
I doubt the USA, Russia, China etc. give a flying fuck about their "concerns".
Does their lack of adoption even matter? ^^ -

Quite likely his service end just before the L85 put into service or just as it was being put into service...
(Which could explain his bias in favor of thurdy cal and/or his bias against SCHV?) -

Welcome to SH, from another Canuckistani. While we are a documents based forum, and appreciate the additions, the documents thread for firearms is here:
Cheers.
Greetings comrade Belesarius!
Do I repost the links to the PK/PKM manuals in the repository thread?

Our last one has gotten stale.
After he has visited a friendly re-education center, he will be a new Canadian as well...

MSBS designers didn't fuck up the charging handle placement like many others do (ARAK, ACR, etc).
Most recently, H&K on the HK433 (the later revision/revisions).
ETA: By "fuck up" I mean place it too far forward and potentially interfere with mounting a laser, a light and associated switch(es)
