  1. So, basic introduction, to start off, we'll go with the latest backbone of the PLA Ground forces' Armored divisions, the ZTZ-96 G/A

    Basic specs.

    Crew: 3

Weight: 42-45 tonnes depending on equipment and addon armor/era.

Power plant: 1,000 hp liquid cooled Diesel engine

    Speed: 65 km/h on roads 45 km/h off road

    Range: 400km without external tanks

Armament: 125mm L/48 main gun with autoloader similar to the Soviet 2A46 (8 rounds per minute rof), ATGM capable, based on Russian Refleks-M missile, also has HEI-FRAG, HEAT, and APFSDS ammunition choices, W-85 12.7mm cupola machine gun (not pictured in this photo), 7.62mm coaxial machine gun.

Wow, such sharp looking, very armor.

Capability wise, this tank was recently pitted against some modern T-72B variants in a Russian tank Biathalon, and while it was deemed better in Armor, Armament, and Electronics, it lost out in mobility due to the underpowered engine, this killed all 730 and 780 hp engines in other ZTZ-96 G/As for the 1,000 hp engine.

nothign to write home out, i would much rahter see a comparison between it and the T-90 being that they filled a similuar role and arent as wildly differing in numbers as the T-72b

  2. The world found out about the new tank a few weeks before the Victory day parade instead of the day of the parade itself.  Not that much difference.

I wonder if that's NERA we're seeing around the suspension components.  If so, does that make T-14 the first tank with composite armored hull side structure?

i was refering the good ol' days when it toke the west two decades to realize what a T-64 was

  3. Random thought: I wonder if some day Osprey will publish a book in their "Duel" series called "T-64 vs T-72: Ukraine 2015."

it should read "T-64 vs RPG-29: Western Russia 2015"

one thing that has surprised me the is the total lack of T-62s in this conflict (which were very common in the Georgia conflict, right in my backyard i might add, ive seen a decent amount of T-62s during those times) and T-55 analogs

I guess they were all taken back over to Russian during the collaspe of the USSR or Ukraine is just that bad at maintaining vehicles that can run for what seems like forever with very little maintenance

  4. i dont know how he did it

maybe through the amount of gung-ho constitutionalism that has turned him into the fascist he appears to oppose

or the general lack of social skills due to the over-occurring theme of not tolerating others opinions or writing them off as commie stooges

but he has offically made the akm look un-cool (the gun produced by, proliferated, and served the type of totatliatrain regime i proudly used to live under and one that would lock him up in an instant)

i guess the 5.45 master race wins again

to be fair, the fact that he owns a fedora probably means he's just the type of asshat that wont rape a weapon with taticool dildos but will convert it to 5.56 for no other reason than to be different from other Aks

and something about costs or whatever, i dont know if 7.62 grows on tree's in the States like it does in my backyard

  5. Hopefully the film approaches the quality of "Black Dynamite" in terms of its humor and skill in lampooning a medium.

did that show ever get renewed?

i watched a few seasons worth of episode's on adult swim.com

Man that stuff is funny, its like the old boondocks before it decided to be family guy with Black people (see- season 3)

  6. Continuing the theme of albums named "Thirteen Tales of ___", here are the Dandy Warhols:

This is layers of reference and self-parody; the Dandy Warhols are a reference to Andy Warhol and by extension the band he managed, the Velvet Underground.  The Velvet Underground is the ur-hipster band; edgy, unknown, widely imitated.  Unimpeachable artistic integrity.  The entire song is Stuff White People Like before there was a Stuff White People Like.  It's like a big hipster onion, only the simile breaks down because when I cut hipsters with a knife, I don't cry.

    Also, boobies.

I couldn't find a song from the Warhols I really liked that had a video that had Zia McCabe in it, so you'll just have to trust me when I say that early '90s Zia McCabe was cute as a button.

Or I could just post that.

    Heh heh heh, Tits

Just a little bit of Lil' Brezhnev.

    I cry everytime

  7. When im not extracting HATO tears on wargame, world of tanks, battlefield, Red Orchastra, or warthunder I like to poor a nice glass of Lemonade and sit down to play some Half-Life Singleplayer

I find Half-Life's unique take on murdering things to be quite satisfying but unfortunatly short

Thats where the modding community comes in, Im always on the prowl for interesting and challenging single-player mods for Half-Life

Examples of this would be mods like Black Mesa
