Collimatrix Posted June 5, 2015 Report Share Posted June 5, 2015 MiG-31 was designed, as I understand it, from day 1 to intercept cruise missiles. To this end it had, hands-down the most advanced radar fitted to a fighter aircraft at the time. It's funny; MiG-25 had a shockingly primitive radar with vacuum tubes.
