  1. This is an interesting paper on the contagious/viral nature of shootings: http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0117259
  2. Is that without premium? 4215 RP seems absurdly low for 17 ground kills.
  3. I see. I believe civilians fired back at Whitman in the UT Austin shooting as well, though they didn't manage to hit him, just make him take cover
  4. Incidentally, is this the first time a "good guy with a gun" stopped a mass shooting perpetrator?
  5. He was apparently atheist for a few years according to NYT But my suspicion is that the immediate trigger for this was probably family. Possible that if he hated his parishioner mother-in-law so much it might have led him to atheism previously? USAToday
  6. So, according to the Mirror: Failed familicide? His mother-in-law was not at the church.
  7. Apparently, Kelley purchased the Ruger model AR-556 rifle used in the shooting at a San Antonio sporting goods store in April 2016, according to a law enforcement official. Does getting convicted in a US Military Court also ban you from owning firearms?
  8. I only play Tank Assault Arcade and heavy bombers in War Thunder. I've been getting 300 ms ping since moving back to Malaysia.
  9. My late grandmother used to make this when she was still around. I haven't had any since she passed on; the stuff you can buy here just ain't the same. Hers was much more wet (almost like a broth)
  10. Not having lived in a country with a strong firearms culture (except for Canada, I guess), I'm not going to pretend to understand the gun rights debate in the US, but my condolences to your country. I hope they figure out why the gunman did all this to hopefully prevent similar incidents.
  11. Go to Customer Support and you should be able to write a ticket to get back your premium. That's how i got my TOG back.
  12. Their HE mechanism is *less* sophisticated than WoT. Basically when the HE detonates, it creates fragments with a certain amount of penetration that drops off with distance (like bullets). It it penetrates the armour it will do damage, if not, it does nothing.
  13. I like the look of the Gustavs, but far and away, the Fw 190 is my favourite German fighter. Amazing how much effort Kurt Tank had to put in to getting it accepted by the Luftwaffe, against Messerschmitt's machinations.
  14. I don't think even gold ammo can go through the UFP at normal angles as is, except the most high penetration TD HEAT rounds
  15. I should make it clear that I'm not surprised and quite understand that the US wants to limit Muslim immigration. What I am astonished by is the fact that they were denying people with green cards and visas entry, even though by giving someone a visa or green card you are already implicitly granting them entry unless they violate the terms of their permits.
  16. That guy who shot up the gay nightclub in Orlando was Afghan, and they also constitute a significant amount of the refugees that are causing headaches to the Germans as well. To be honest, they should not be accepted as refugees now by anyone. This isn't 2001, Afghanistan is not a warzone anymore the way Syria is right now.
  17. I mean, there will always be people who slip through any system. If you want to just completely ban people from Muslim countries from your country altogether, fine, I can respect that. Still doesn't work if you're banning them from all except the Muslim countries actually most responsible for all the terrorist attacks conducted in your country. Until he actually does something about that, anything that Trump says or does is just for show.
  18. Who is moving goalposts here? You said vetting is not strict enough. How strict is strict enough?
  19. Dozens out of 70,000 is pretty damn good. Maybe you can show me a way guaranteed to exclude 100% of terrorists?
  20. I am almost certain he is the first president to actually bar people who have already been granted entry into a country from actually entering that country
  21. And your evidence that it is not working as it should is what exactly? The 0 attacks conducted or foiled by Iraqis, Iranians, Syrians, and Yemenis since 2001?
  22. It's pretty damn ridiculous to tell someone who has already been granted a visa or permanent residence that they can't enter the country when they haven't committed a crime or there is no evidence that they are planning to commit one at all. It's basically telling them that the government's word means absolutely nothing at all. It's unprecedented in any functioning country I can think of. It's not like the US doesn't vet visas and green cards from those countries very carefully. The ones that it historically DOESN'T vet carefully are, surprise, surprise, the ones from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
  23. Oh, I view this as one step in a certain direction. Denying legal permanent residents and people already granted visas into your country is definitely a very bold step in a certain direction. It also doesn't answer why he hasn't banned Muslims from Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, the Central Asian Muslim states, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, etc.
