  1. I heared some days ago that Diehl has developed a new Z track that has the same characteristics as the old one but with 400 kg less. Weight reduction is still a big topic for many Leopard users.
  2. Quite a difference compared to the old Wegmann 76mm Smoke System. Is it blocking both visual and thermal sight?
  3. Well, the plan could be to have large numbers of MBT in the garage to threaten Russia. To operate such a fleet you need MBTs, IFVs, ARVs, AEVs and AVBLs and other support vehicles. So far I don't see that for any type of the Polish MBT in a significant way so it doesn't matter if there comes a third type ;-). Or lets say there are some open challenges.
  4. Great vehicle. Did they solve the blind spot on the right side somehow or is this "don't care topic" in LTU?
  5. So if Bumar has so less problems going ahead with Leopard 2 PL - it should be easy for them to develop the next gen MBT ;-)) https://www.shephardmedia.com/news/landwarfareintl/poland-considers-next-generation-tank-development/
  6. Agree. Lithium batteries in a military vehicle seems new to me as well. The PDF states "Wisent 2 NOR" so must be in use already. But hey Norway is primary market for electrical mobility so why not...
  7. Found some interesting stuff via Google search. Seems to be some brand new bridgelaying concept for Leopard 2. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.milengcoe.org/events/SiteAssets/FFG%20Presentation.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjCg6SOzP3iAhWC-6QKHf-tBkkQFjACegQICRAB&usg=AOvVaw3v53DBpmSOOwrHbVhhe09p See page 24 of the PDF.
  8. Wisent 2 ist for Leopard 2 but the K9 Thunder ist too heavy for NM217. So upgrade might make sense. CV90 and M113/M577 could be supported by MN217 as well.
  9. Are they going for Wisent 1 ARV as an upgrade of the NM217?
