I agree, the US is almost like Europe.

Not sure how banning guns would lower gun violence,  if it is for exampled caused by gang wars in a few major cities.
People in the entire country losing their guns, because a few gangs had a war and the media caught wind of recent statistics.

Does not really make sense, unless you are motivated by different agendas.

I liked old norse law. If someone tried to dishonor you, you could challenge them to a fight to the death, if they declined then they get dishonored. If you get dishonored 3 times without acting, you will get punished by law xD

Basically any dispute could be solved by holmgang, a sort of battle to the death on a small island.

First I would add to your advice list:
    -Wear a helmet.
-Use a balaclava or similar to cover your face when it is cold, you don't want to get frost bitten.
-For the love of god and your kids, don't stand right below the top of a slope half way down the mountain, especially not in a line covering most of the slope.

-Wear a back spine guard, unless you want to live dangerous and paralyzed, especially if you are new.
-Do not do long windy turns while going downhill, it will wear out your legs faster and you are a pain in the ass to pass.
    -Wear a helmet.
-Do not pile up in front of the lift at the top.
-Do not force yourself in on others when they take a T-lift or bench if they are in a group.
-Do not slam the harness of the bench in the head of the others.

    -Wear a helmet.
-Do not cover up narrow passes.
-Do not stand still right around the corner in the middle of the track.
-If you are waiting, go of the track into the loose snow and wait there.
-Do not buy hot chocolate at the cafe up at the top of the lift, unless you love your 6-8 dollar coca.
    -Wear a helmet.

I use randonee skis, they are designed for back country skiing and climbing mountains, but they were leagues above my downhill skis, so I use them for both.
They aren't as stiff, which makes the skis wobble at high speeds, but they are also way lighter, which is practical. Also I can run like a maniac in the boots.

When I go downhill I prefer going fast, as fast as I can manage without crashing down the slope. I always try to break as little as possible.

I do recommend the Swiss alps as they have much larger resorts than here in Norway, but also have a amazing amount of beginners than want to kill you.
Here in Norway it is tradition to go skiing, a joke is that we are born with skis on our feet.

This of course means that you will mostly meet experienced skiers in Norway, be it cross country or downhill. Though, cross country is not as common.
Oh, and we don't have ratings, we only have child slopes, family slopes and then just different names for the slopes.

It should be noted that the right party is Liberal Conservative, the left party is Social Liberal, The Progressives are classic liberal and Christian party is, the Christian party, nobody cares, people just vote for them since they are THE Christian party.
So the coalition could be called a Liberal coalition.

The opposing group was the Labor-Center-Socialistic-environmentalist-communist Coalition.
With the labor party being unionist, workers rights, socialist and for more wealthfare. Center party is basically social democratic agricultural party, previously called the farmers party. Socialists are socialist, not really much new there. The environmentalists are basically communist hippies detached from reality. They wanted to remove all diesel vehicles by 2040, want us to stop expanding hydropower, and instead invest in wind and solar, very rational for country with periods with only 4 hours of sunlight a day, and further north, zero for 3 months. The Reds, is basically a communist party (they identify as communist, though call themselves socialist is public), take everything related to communism and slap it together, and you have the Reds.
Which makes this a socialist coalition.

Norway is for the most part, just ignoring Russia's complaint and trying not to make a big fuzz out of it, so that the environmentalists don't catch wind of it.

Only thing I have seen through the Norwegian media and heard from oil industry is that Norway opened 3 new zones in the Barents sea for oil drilling. Simply going with the Barents sea treaty. The small line stretching out of Norway up to Svalbard is the product of that treaty.

The only opposition internally to drilling oil in the arctics is from environmentalists, who are afraid it will hurt the environment. And some that feel we should seek to grow other sectors instead.

Ok folks! A idea from Xoon's crazy lab!

In AFVs we have a lot of heavy wiring. This problem is partially solved when it comes to control and signal cables with fiber optics. Put when it comes to power supply we still use copper cables.

So I have a idea, what about using aluminum cables instead on the main power lines?

Aluminum needs to be 1,5 times thicker to transfer the same amount of current, but it turn it is twice as light for the same amount of current.
This would mean that if you have say, 500 kg worth of power supply cables, you could reduce the weight to 250 kg.  Another advantage is that aluminum costs only 1/3 to 1/5 for the same amount of copper, and it would reduce the usage of strategic resources.

There are drawbacks of course, the number one drawback is that you need a adopter between the copper and the aluminum, since they react with each other. This would add weight and cost, but this should be off sett by the savings the cable in itself provides:

The other downside is the tab bit bigger volume it would take.
For example, a 4mm2 copper cable can supply the same amount of amperage as a 6mm2 aluminum cable.

I think this can come in handy when considering things like a electric turret drive and elevation mechanism, a APU and a diesel-electric drive train.

Not sure what the measurements are in the US. But in Europe we measure battery size by Kwh. The power divided by the amounts of hours. One kwh is equal to 1kw*3600s (1 hour).
This means that a 1 Kwh battery could run a 1Kw load  for one hour, or a 2Kw load for 30 minutes, or a 4Kw load for 15 minutes.

The exception being power banks and computer batteries, which are measured in Ah.  The reason being that the voltage is constant (5V), also manufacturers usually use mA so that they can make the numbers look big, like 10 000mAh, instead of simply 10Ah.

I think you are mistaking voltage and power here.  It is true that wiring cells in series increases the power, but so does wiring them in parallel. Ohm's law explains this:

Take a 12V 1A cell, if we use Ohm's law, we will see that:
    V*I=P
    12V*1A=12w

So we know this cell has a power of 12w.

By wiring it in series we double the voltage.
Now the cell is 24V 1A, by using the same equation:
    24V*1A=24w

By wiring it in parallel we double the amps but the voltage stays the same.
This cell is 12V 2A, and what do we get?
    12V*2A=24w

Now you talk about stupidly high power with no energy. I am assume you meant stupidly high voltage with no amps. This is easily possible, just take a sweater and rub around a bit to make static electricity. Now touch anything conductive. GASP, you just discharged up to around 12 000 000 volts! Now why did the room not explode and the conductors vaporize? Because the current is minuscule, 0,00001mA maybe.  This is around 0,12w. Absolutely nothing. You can see this is tasers. You only need 12 000 volts to have a very effective taser, at around 20mA.

Voltage is the pressure in a water pipe.
Current is the amount of water flowing through the pipe.
Resistance is the inside diameter of the pipe.
Power is the amount of well, power in the water. Like the power in a motor, it does not matter if the motor is 6V 1000A or 6000V 1A, they both have a power of 6Kw. (It does impact motor design and such, but that is off topic).

What limits engineers from simply wiring a million cells in series and parallel is the heat generation and BMS.  Example of a Tesla battery pack:

Yes, they could have simply hooked a super capacitor to the grid that lasts for 0,1 second like you mentioned.

    RULLENDE BOMBEKASTER
Fire CV90 bombekastere sto klare.

    ROLLING MORTAR
Four CV90 mortar vehicles stood ready. All fired off five shells in the direction of the target, which was between two to three kilometers away.

Mortar Weapon System (MWS) is the name of the mortar system on the vehicle. The big difference from the older Mortar vehicles is that the mortar system in the CV90 is automatic: MWS knows where it is, and in which direction it points.

MWS comes with much faster rate of fire after the vehicle is in position.

    -BETTER ACCURACY
Head of weapons school, Colonel Trond Haande, explains that the vehicles will add considerable protection and mobility capacity to Hæren.

The new vehicles also gives Hæren new possibilities for rounds on the ground by potentially 1-2 minutes from the target is observed, which is a considerable upgrade.

-Because of the network based communication between drones, IFVs and CV90 Mortar vehicles, Hæren accomplices better accuracy and exposes personnel for less risk then before. Earlier, information about the target whereabouts had to be communicated verbally. Now it can happen electronically, says Colonel Haande.

-We in Forsvarsmatriell are happy to deliver the CV90 mortar vehicles to Hæren. This gives increased combat power through good and futuristic technical and electronic systems, says Forsvarsmateriell's part project leader, Per Rune Hansen in the Tank program."

Hæren and Forsvarsmateriell demonstates the new CV90BK (Mortar vehicle) at Rena. Digitized communication between the weapon systems is a important aspect of increased combat power.

For awhile the fog laid too thick over the region of østlandet before demonstrations could start. It is not allowed to practice firing without clear sight.

Telemark bataljon, Hærens våpenskole and Forsvarsmateriell meanwhile kept their cool, and not long after, the fog lifts. This meant that the visitors could see what the CV90 variant was capable of.

    RULLENDE BOMBEKASTER
Fire CV90 bombekastere sto klare.

As you all know, I am Norwegian. And I think we do camping a bit different from the average person from the US.

Here in Norway we have the allemannsretten law, which in simplified terms means anyone can go anywhere. No need to concern about private property when hiking.
So how most Norwegians hike, is by driving/walking to the foot of the mountain/area they wish to hike and then traveling to your destination. We have no designated camping spots in the same manner as in the US. So you have to find a good spot yourself. We also lack prepared trails usually, unless it is heavily used.  We can also chop down trees and vegetation to make a campsite or a fire, as long as you don't leave a big scar.
Campfire rules are simple, don't light them between the specified months, except in mountainous terrain or besides lakes/oceans.  And also try and stay at least 200m from trails or cabins.

I have friends in the US that laughed at me about how much equipment I usually carried while camping, saying you could just sleep on the hood.
I find it hard however to get a truck up here:

What you see here is heavy fog obscuring a steep drop into a river, probably a 50m fall. We have a use a set of chains bolted into the cliff face to get past this area.

Here is good view of the valley further up when the fog is gone:

The weather was kinda meh this day, demonstrated by my friend:

For those that wonder, we went to a place called Molladalen, very beautiful place. You ascend about 800m I believe, so a easy trip.

I sometimes go hiking in the mountains when I am bored, usually I don't need more than a jacket or a par of sunglasses if the weather is not shitty.

Anyone interested in winter hiking? It is by far my favorite:

I love it, well as long as I remember to check my hands and feet once in awhile, almost lost my hand once.

Used up all our money on the F35s. And yes, in short it says that the modernization is insufficient in combating the Armata series (The Armata series is not mentioned, but EVERY Norwegian knows what they mean when they say potential enemies.)

They are not saying that we will use the old Leos until 2025 though:
"Konsekvenser ved denne utsettelsen vil bli søkt redusert gjennom ulike tiltak for videreføring av stridsvognkapasiteten og kompetansen frem til nye stridsvogner er på plass."
"The consequences of this delay will be reduced by searching through different alternatives for continuation of tank capacity and competence until new tanks are acquired".

Not a perfect translation because the wording was quite strange, but it gets through the point.

East of the shackleton craters seems like the best spot for a lunar base:

It has near constant sunlight throughout the lunar summer.

Also a light map made by NASA, brighter means more sunlight throughout the six months.

The most illuminated ares marked here:

A and B seems like the best location, since they receive the most sunlight of them all (81-85% of the day).

Building a colony in this general location would be the best from a power standpoint.

Cabeus and shoemaker crater are the best spots for mining water that can be refined to for example fuel.

When I speak of empathy, I mean a persons ability to emulate others emotions.  Not how caring you are or something like that. You can be strong in empathy and still don't give a crap about someone dying, this comes down to perceptions as you mentioned.  However, a person low in empathy is less likely to be affected by the death, while a person high in empathy is more likely to be affected.

And then we come down to the definition, a psychopath is extremely low in empathy. This means they have a really hard time understanding others feelings. Which is why they end up not giving a shit. A sadist is extremely high in empathy, ironic right? To the point where they feel it stronger than the actual person, they also confuse pain with sexual pleasure. This means they can be caring and loving of people. However, if they are narcissistic, or low in consciousnesses they are likely to hurt others for their own pleasure.

A psychopath would not torture someone to death unless it was to prove a point, or for deterrence. It is simply illogical and a waste of time. A sadist would, regardless of how logical it is.

Why does a shooter need a proper reason to preform mass murder?

Many mass murderers can be classified as sadists. People that mistake pain for pleasure, and has much stronger empty than the average person.  Just think about how you feel when the bad guy in a movie is finally taken down, and make that feeling much stronger, that is how a sadist feel. Also, the feeling of orchestrating such a big thing, the feeling of being in control of thousands of people's life.  Many people murder just because of pleasure alone.

To make things worse, is the amount of romanticizing from the media. Just think about the amount of prestige this person gets from pulling off the US's deadliest shooting. The media loves it and spreads it far and wide. He gets marked in history. Playing right into his hand.  This song pretty much shows a mass murder in a nutshell for the media:

And the amount of people exploiting the event for fame, attention and virtue signaling makes me puke. If these kinds of evens were played down and kept covering to a minimum, they would massively drop in popularity.
