You probably had to buy beer for the wrecker or ARV crew that tipped you back over.

According to 40K, this should allow them to reroll on a miss.

If there is any justice in this world that particular M577 with the light bar is operated by a police officer named Officer Gavin.

Man, I might have helped get the Chieftain's Hatch locked.
Oh well, but LiB's sense of entitlement annoyed me.
Hey Walter, I like your police M113 article. I liked the photo of the M577 with the light bar on it. Who do they think they're going to pull over?

I bought it too. I remember hearing that GDW made a ton of $ from it. They hit the shelves 1st with a guide and sold alot of them, was on the NYT best seller list. Basically saved the company.

Clearly we need to give the Iraqis equal numbers of M1s and M48 tanks and see at what rate they surrender to guys in Toyota HiLux pickups. It is the only way to reliably get an answer.

The hatch can be fully open, like in this picture, or half open with the hatch popped up a few inches but horizontal over the TC so he can see out the gap. It can be a pain sometimes to open the hatch fully from that position, if you don't lock it correctly it will swing down and bonk you in the noggin, hopefully you're wearing the kevlar shell CVC when that happens.
I've come to the conclusion that Iraqis suck at tanking. US tanks, Russian tanks, Chinese, whatever, they just lose them in an embarrassing fashion.

They tried that on my buddy Ray when we got to our 1st unit out of basic. My gunner tried to get me with a "front slope adjuster" for the M60A3, my tank had a weak torsion bar on the front & it was a couple of inches lower than the tanks on either side of it. I got a noob to go to the POL point for some "laser juice" for the LRF. I told him he had to wear googles and the asbestos mittens to protect himself from "laser burns".

Yes, a Tank Commander in G Troop 82nd Cav, ORNG.
Thanks again. I didn't figure that the breach on Preston's M18 burst, that'd be a really rare occurance, but I didn't know anything about what kinds of ammo was used.
Distinctive Unit Insignia or "Unit Crest" of the 70th Armor Regt.
I was in C Co, 1/70 AR in Wiesbaden, FRG, 1983-1984. Maybe I saw you on the other side of the border Tied.

I was talking with my Thursday Night War Game buddies about the incident involving the M-18 owned by Steve Preston. Since I'm the resident tanker they were asking me about what I thought happened. During the discussion, we were talking about what kind of ammo they would have been using.
That got me to wondering, what kind of ammo would they have been using?
Surplus ammo? US? Foreign?
Reloaded ammo? If so, what would the propellant be? Primer? Projectile?
I figured it would be easy for a machine shop to fabricate a 76mm projectile, but what would you use for the rest?
That brought me to think about the balistics of such a round. Would you get close enough to a service round to be able to use the AP or HE reticle in the sight?
BTW, hello.
