https://www.gd.com/Articles/2022/07/13/gdls-awarded-up-to-280-million-for-trophy-aps-kits "General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) announced today that it has been awarded a competitive award worth up to $280,112,700 to procure Trophy Ready Kits as an Active Protection System (APS) for Abrams main battle tanks. Trophy rapidly detects, classifies and engages threats such as recoilless rifles, antitank guided missiles, rockets, tank rounds and rocket-propelled grenades. The detection of threats, including their launch location, allows Abrams tank crews to rapidly handle targets. The kits will be added to M1A2 SEPv2 and M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tanks as needed, continuing their fielding across the Army. “We are honored to have been chosen by the Army to continue to provide this important capability to keep tank crew members and their vehicles safe on the battlefield,” said Gordon Stein, vice president of U.S. operations at General Dynamics Land Systems. Work on the indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract is expected to extend into mid-2027." -

Seems like a moot point to argue considering that it is very unlikely the GDLS MPF vehicle will be exported any time soon. -

https://horstmangroup.com/2022/07/06/horstman-inarm-suspension/ " The Horstman Group, a company of the Renk Group, is pleased to announce that our InArm® external suspension system has been selected by General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) and the US Army for the Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) program. The Horstman InArm® was selected from the outset because of its ability to offer superior mobility while at the same time providing good ride quality and a stable platform. The InArm® is a true externally mounted suspension system that eliminates the need for torsion bars, freeing significant space claim inside the hull and improving survivability." -

500 round life is pretty bad, if true it would explain why there has been so little interest in the gun.

"The U.S. Army’s replacement of the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle is likely to be the service’s first combat vehicle with hybrid power, Brig. Gen. Glenn Dean, program executive officer for ground combat systems, said at the Eurosatory defense expo in Paris. The Army’s Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle competition has already kicked off, with five teams in a preliminary design phase: Point Blank Enterprises, Oshkosh Defense, BAE Systems, General Dynamics Land Systems and American Rheinmetall Vehicles. All five developed initial designs that are hybrid, Dean said, a capability the Army considers evermore important as it seeks a smaller, tactical logistics footprint." I would presume the 30x113 RWS is for CUAS self protection as that is the gun being used on the SHORAD Stryker. It is also an apples to oranges with something like the original plan for Abrams to have a 25mm coaxial. Other things I see are Trophy, an XM360 gun and two thermal viewers.
