https://breakingdefense.sites.breakingmedia.com/2021/10/army-could-test-new-ramjet-weapon-from-boeing-next-summer/ A Boeing-led team will demonstrate a new high-speed air-breathing projectile for the Army as soon as next summer, a company official said last week. The Ramjet 155 — which Boeing is co-developing with BAE Systems and Norwegian munitions company Nammo — is progressing through development and will be ready for its first launch from an L39 cannon next year, said Dan Palmeter, Boeing’s capture team lead for the project.- 1,912 replies

https://www.defensenews.com/land/2021/10/12/after-pumping-the-brakes-army-moves-to-field-iron-fist-protection-system-on-bradley/ The Iron Fist system has completed the majority of required testing, Brig. Gen. Glenn Dean, the program executive officer for Army ground combat systems, told Defense News in an interview before the Association of the U.S. Army’s annual expo. “There’s a little bit left to go and then some integration work, but we’re essentially reaching the point where we’re just waiting for resources, whether Army or congressionally-provided, to proceed into procurement,” he said. -

https://www.shephardmedia.com/news/landwarfareintl/allison-transmission-will-equip-us-armys-fleet-wit/ Allison Transmission, in coordination with US Army’s Ground Vehicle Systems Center, is to accelerate the Next Generation Electrified Transmission programme. The programme aims to integrate electrification technology into the US Army’s ground combat vehicle fleet, including tracked IFVs and MBTs. Allison will design, develop and validate a motor/generator and inverter system to be coupled to a tracked vehicle transmission. Electrifying vehicles will provide the army with silent mobility, reducing detection probability and increasing survivability, exportable power provision for onboard and offboard systems, and flexible operational modes capable of balancing performance and fuel economy demands. -

https://www.darpa.mil/news-events/2021-09-27 "DARPA, in partnership with the U.S. Air Force, completed a free flight test of its Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC) last week. The missile, built by Raytheon Technologies, was released from an aircraft seconds before its Northrop Grumman scramjet (supersonic combustion ramjet) engine kicked on. The engine compressed incoming air mixed with its hydrocarbon fuel and began igniting that fast-moving airflow mixture, propelling the cruiser at a speed greater than Mach 5 (five times the speed of sound)."
