Rheinmetall is also interested in the MGCS, which would be a far more lucrative deal and has good chances to win a contract. While Poland has requested to join the MGCS, these requests have currently been denied (but they may allow Poland to join at a later stage). Given the limited ressources of the company (there aren't many people with in-depth knowledge in tank and AFV design), there might be a need to make a choice between the MGCS and the Polish program, unless Poland joins the MGCS project.
The Polish program and MGCS are the one and the same. Rheinmetall offers the cooperation with Polish industry within MGCS program.

I daubt that Rheinmetall can do a successful counteroffer to a KNDS tank as they are no tank developers as KMW and Nexter
So who has projected Lynx KF41? Aliens?

I personally think that the best for Poland is to upgrade already owned Leopard 2 so that they can last until 2035-2045 then buy the MGCS which should become available around that time.
It should be the most advanced western MBT at this time period (The US apparently going toward a modernization of the M1A2 with a focus on networking with UGV).
Personally I think you have forgotten about T-72 and PT-91 tanks. And Rheinmetall tank will be their replacement, not Leopard's.

Is something known about the new tank proposed by PGZ? Could the EMBT be an interesting concept for Polish MoD as this tank has a 120 mm NATO standard caliber, an autoloader and the high mobility and reliability of Leopard 2 well known to Polish Army?
Leopard 2 is known in Poland, Leclerc not.
The only known things about the tank:
- G2G between Polish and German government (the talks have been started roughly at the beginning of this year but it is still not signed)
- production in Poland (Bumar-Labedy) starting between 2027 and 2030 (according to PGZ)
- between 400 and 800 tanks only for Polish Armed Forces
- 130 mm Rheinmetall's smoothbore gun as main armament - probably with production in Poland
- high degree of "polonization", including all the rights to the tank (even in this situation Rheinmetall wants to be claimed as a Polish company)
- the tank will be offered by Rheinmetall in Germany as a Leopard 2 replacement and the counteroffer to KNDS tank.

If Poland likes to join the official MGCS program, a few years have to we waited until the French and the German authorities really made up their mind how this next generation MBT should look like. Rheinmetall can offer in the meanwhile a lot of hypothetical concepts.
The joint Rheinmetall and PGZ offer about the new tank is currently in the Polish MoD and MoD considers it very seriously. KMW on the other hand offers the reboot of Leopard 2 production in Poland.
And MGCS program is probably not only KNDS program.

I don't know if it suits better to this or MGCS' thread.
I've found that MTU started (or would start) to develop new, 1325 kW version of MT 883 engine. But if this engine reaches a prototype or production status, it has to be paired with HSWL 354 or another, brand new transmission in powerpack.

My light tank's status
I've realized that classic turret had been a waste of time and I've replaced it with low-profile turret. I'm afraid that I'll have no time to end both tanks so I think to use the same turret on the light and also on the medium tank.
-
Bustle ammo rack in my classic turret (version 1) - can be loaded up to 30 or 36 95mm rounds. The version 2 will have a space for 80mm rounds.
My classic turret has two ammo racks in its bustle.

About the KAPS Hyundai reps told us at MSPO that only soft-kill sensors were operational at the moment.
Hard-kill is still under development.

Which one? I’ve updated it twice, and now I have the C3.
... also, I don’t know how to send components to someone, or even if my autodesk inventor files will translate well into whatever software you’re using.
C1. You can send me measurements of the gun via PM.

It's one of very few MBTs currently offered with an APS.
Which isn't still ready.

I present to you, the 94/74mm C2 squeezebore anti-tank gun:
currently, the sliding breach and mount are not made.
Recoil stroke: 300mm
Barrel length: 3.76m (L/40 if using the 94mm as reference, it's an L/50.8 using the 74mm reference)
Mass: 833.5kg (using steel alloy 7.73 g/cm3)
Only the first 10 calibers are rifled (940mm), the rest is smoothbore (I hope this is acceptable, it is very similar to the 7,5cm PaK 41 I'm basing this off)
Can I borrow your gun?

I take it you haven't heard of the Norman's frontal arc.
200mm steel base+~180mm air gap +60mm hard steel LOS.
+- 30 degrees for the turret, +- 20 degrees for the hull.
Show Norman one more time. And what is 'his' weight?

Isn't the APFSDS round the late 50s technology?
More, I think it's not possible to load 200 mm round to 120 mm gun or to create 50:1 L/D steel rod

My baby slowly starts to live - one of two versions of the light tank

Engine: It is going to be 27L 340 - 410 HP (250 - 310 kW) V12 compact engine (Liberty L-12 derivative)
- Sturgeon and Collimatrix

The most interesting is that H.Cegielski get to know from me about the problems with K2 powerpack and the fact that it is and will be made in Germany More over Hyundai offered that H.Cegielski can 'polonize' K2 tank in 100% and they didn't tell H.Cegielski about the problems with K2 and German involvement in its production Also H.Cegielski don't know about the unofficial offer from Rheinmetall about the production of new generation tank in Poland.
But on the other hand BAE Systems offers M88A2 Hercules for Polish Army as a Bergepanzer 2 replacement.

Manufacturing capabilities:
- The Cascade Republic's ability to cast steel is pretty good; test castings up to ~35 tons and the size of a medium tank hull have been done. Likewise, RHA up to about 6 inches thickness is readily produced. A big limitation is stamping; something like the stamped T-34 turret isn't readily producible (though the cast version is).
- Plastics are at about early 1950s technology; notably aramids like kevlar and nomex aren't in production (though they are known obviously).
- Tungsten is available (there are mines in Canada, controlled by friendly nations). DU is not (what can be salvaged from prewar isn't enough for any real use, and gotta have EU to make DU).
What about aluminium, Doron and enamel?
And what about using bolts to make spaced armor?

Defense-update also say the missile will be showcased in MSPO in a bid to convince Poland to purchase it for its fleet of Mi-24 which are currently lacking ATGMs. Also, the Spike ER is already in use by a Mi-24 user.
Probably not only Mi-24. LEONARDO believes that PZL W-3 can be also Spike ER's carrier.
SpoilerAfter 20 years
And afterwards these ATGMs would be used on future helicopters of Polish Army and (maybe) future tank destroyers.

As a follow-on to the Spike LR 2, Rafael are unveiling the Spike ER 2.
Spike ER:
- Fiber-optic data-link.
- 8km range from air.
- 8km range from surface.
- Possibility to proceed engagement beyond 8km in F&F mode (no video feed or controls).
- 1,000mm penetration.
- Energy-efficient trajectory and moderate angle of attack. No Counter-APS.
Spike ER 2:
- RF data-link for air, and extended fiber-optic data-link for surface.
- 16km range from air.
- 10km range from surface.
- RF data-link ensures FO&U (LOBL) and F&S (Fire and Steer, LOAL) are preserved for the entirety of the energetic envelope of the missile.
- * 1,300mm penetration.
- * Counter-APS mode with steep dive.
* In the Spike ER 2 column I added some un-confirmed improvements that officially exist on the Spike LR 2 but were not yet mentioned on the Spike ER 2 version.
The first presentation of SPIKE-ER2 will be on Tuesday

Leopard 2PL is delayed because some Polish companies weren't ready to produce so many components to Leopard. But now the delay is probably also the Rheinmetall's fault. But on the other hand Leopard 2PL and Polish modernization of Leopard 2A5 have the purpose to test Polish industry and to be honest this is the first part of NCP (New Main Battle Tank) purchase by Polish Army.
