Indeed most world car manufacturers outsource just about every component and process , even development of said components , Lada is made in Togliattigrad in one of the largest car plants in the world , not because they make most cars (the volume they manufacture is actually rather small),but because virtually everything is made inhouse . Most car manufacturers these days couldn't make a whole car on their own even if they wanted to , but that is not their goal as they also offload development and tooling costs onto their supplyers.
Togliattigrad - is named after the Italian Palmiro Togliatti ,head of Italian Communist party ,that is credited with making the whole Fiat AutoVAZ undertaking possible.
Back in the day Italians supplied the knowhow for AutoVaz-Lada ,now its part of Renault group . Lada Niva at the time was one of the first modern SUVs with unibody construction , now days i am suprised they are not just making something on Dacia Duster basis as i see Duster 4x4 is more or less the Lada Niva replacement in much of Europe.

Advanced Indonsian UGVs LOL
The Military Polytechnic Institute of the National Army of Indonesia presented promising combat ground-based robotic systems of domestic development. The attention of journalists was riveted to the unmanned combat system on the chassis of a walk-behind tractor.

Looks like Azeri troops fell into an ambush 50+KIA

The most interesting part is they float and tyres provide much of the flotation and all of the propulsion.

Wonder when someone finaly decides to equip at least VDV and likes with red dots or other optics , seriously these days with irons .............
RAID veper + holy moly dose of steroids

Considering it was near point blank hit , BTR surprisingly survived as well as it did , its thin skinned but at least armor is sloped .

7.62x39 still popular

its not just for night but for high altitude jumps as you can see the oxygen mask and the parachute for delayed oppening

and on superflat terrain

In what way would BMD not be as maintainable as Uran9 or these , lets not forget Uran9 turned out also to be mechanically unreliable.
The current attempts to robotise a BMP3 and even lift a roofline seem excesive

Wonder why BMD chassis are not being used as surrogates for these robotic systems , instead resources are being wasted developing the chassis and running geat that then prove to be much less durable that they should be

T72 'Budget cut' is really an embarrassing upgrade that should be sent to die abroad , ERA coverage is laugable. UVZ should realy take a peek at Serbian M-84 AS1 MBT upgrade for some tips on how to upgrade a T72

If the price is right this could be a great car with better mine protection than base Tiger, just split the front wind shield in half, for cheaper raplacemnts

I am quite surprised they use a BTR for these patrols when they have Typhoons

An article on the "Chinese Armata" has surfaced. Most important design characteristics: unmanned turret and 2 man crew. Judging by the drawings, it may suggest less emphasis on armor compared to T-14, even on the front of the crew compartment. The shape of the crew compartment is very reminiscing of the front hull of the Abrams, but in this case the UFP actually has a composite layer. As for the turret it looks very much like a clusterf*ck in my opinion, lots of sights and very uncommon placement for other turret equipment. The main gun seems like a 125 or even a 105mm, if its supposed to to be a traditional one or something border sci-fi like electrothermal-chemical is still unknown.
I still don't know what to think about this thing, i'm still digesting it. But judging from the overall characteristics it suggest a tank lighter than T-14, perhaps in the 40 ton class, which makes sense so that its less restricted in terms of operation depending on the terrain, unlike heavier tanks such as Type 99A.
https://club.6parkbbs.com/military/index.php?app=forum&act=threadview&tid=15471684When you are limited by power pack like the Russians best stick to sub 50 ton tank that can use the existing drivetrains , and time will come when 2 man crew is just as effective as 3 man crew

BMP1AM upgrade is a joke .
BMP1 biggest issue is thin armor , all western APC let alone IFVs have these days allround 14.5mm protection with add on armor, and 20+mm over frontal arc .while you can still destroy the BMP-1 with modern 12.7mm AP rounds at angles outside frontal 60°. And any opponent will likely have ither 23 or 25mm cannon
Also lacking night fighting capabilty , western armor greatly outclasses Russian armor in terms of optics and thermal vision
Unmanned turret could save weight and space inside

Hope that was just one of many configurations proposed, as mounting any type of jet engine on a helo doesn't make much sense beyond it being a test bed for new rotors and control systems.
-
Still looks lower than Namer ,which is the only vehicle in same class.

I fully understand, but if you get immobilized and blinded by HMG or light autocannon fire, the crew capsule is now a stationary and defenseless target for whatever heavier weapons the opposition feels to use at their leisure.
Actually Jaguar is quite complex due to doubling of all the optics having both traditional glass and optronic sights for each station makin turret much more complex, hydropneumatic suspension greatly increases the hit probability while shooting on the move. can limp away with shot tyres tha normal suspension couldn't , but more importantly it can hug the ground to make for much smaller target. French have lots of experience with hydropneumatic suspensions and you can expect more of the worlds armies adopting these not just for wheeled but also tracked vehicles.

Double tap is quite standard SAM tactic, doesn't mean any of them missed , its just a way to make the 87% hit probability a 100%

Russian MOD sure is playing with lots on different protected 4x4 , wonder why not go for a down select to one or two more mass produced models

Most of these seem to be Yemenis , but still its a huge win for the Huthis. They are mentioning cca 2000 captured , but tha seems unlikely high number

Interestingly both American and Russian programs that resulted in a10 and Su25 took far to many cues from past wars and not enough taught for future ones.
Il-102 is straight up jet powered iliteration of WW2 Sturmovik , its beyond me how someone ever approved construction of this plane.
