Belesarius
A thread for discussing various infectious diseases, and news associated with them. So Ebola, HIV, SARS, etc. Starting with a couple articles about HIV that came across my FB feed. 90 % of all HIV cases trace back to a strain that comes from Kinshasha/Leopoldville back in the 1920s where it spread out due to rail and other transportation networks. https://futurism.com/hiv-scientists-uncovered-the-birthplace-of-the-disease-that-refuses-to-die?fbclid=IwAR0NuD7GLtq6CGEYfWldfuPAmSTYITm3w_kazVas7y6dbzZ5TZkPFoomyW0 http://www.bbc.com/earth/story/20151119-we-know-the-city-where-hiv-first-infected-a-human?ocid=fbert Scolopax

Oedipus Wreckx-n-Effect
I like how the media is attempting to rewrite the gaition dougus patient zero story when it comes to aids. Sure he wasn't patient zero in North America. But he gave hiv to literally hundreds of dudes across the Continent so that's something to write about. Oedipus Wreckx-n-Effect
What's everyone's favorite disease? I like bacillus anthracus infections. The long dwell time and immediate suicide bombing once secondary targeted immune response happens is amazing.
