  1. To be fair, the RNC is not running these candidates because they want to, in most cases they snuck onto the ballot in a district that was very noncompetitive, leading to a lack of respectable conservative candidates. Still, the optics are pretty bad.
  2. I'm sure they all have their platforms posted on campaign websites in case you want to prove your point. Anyhow, while I am sure there are a number of democratic candidates who are socialists, I doubt there are any that resemble of the hardline communists of old, demanding the liquidation of the Kulaks and Stalinist re-education camps. Most of the "democratic socialist" candidates seem to be espousing something more in line with the socialist policies of some of the Western European countries.
  3. This story has nothing to do with anything. She wasn't even on the ballot, let alone the Democratic candidate for her district. Anyhow, if you want to start comparing which party has more nutcase candidates for US house races, I just want to point out that the Republicans can boast of a handful of candidates that are literal Nazis.
  4. At least most of the former occupants could fake it. I want someone who can at least pay lip service to the ideals that we all pretend make the USA a great nation. Call me sentimental I guess.
  5. Why are the wheel hubs painted red like clown noses? Is it not bad enough that an M88 powered by a Continental engine is forced to lift an MTU powerpack, which replaced the Continental AVDS-1790 in the Merkava series?
  6. I have made no secret of my dislike of the man. Examining his history as a business man and public figure leads me to the conclusion that he lacks the necessary skills and ethics to occupy the highest office of the land.
  7. Yes, I am very suspicious of Trump and his relationships to various Russian oligarchs. I have said so, as shown in previous posts. However, I have not said that I am certain that his campaign colluded with Russian officials, I leave that up to the official release of Muellers report, assuming it ever comes out. Please forgive me for being suspicious. I mean, it't not like Trump's campaign manager is on trial for conspiracy against the United States. Like, that's totally normal.
  8. Fringe folks will be fringe. At least there are not actual gun battles in the streets. If ever there was a time for calmer head to prevail, now would be the time.
  9. Well, that's an optimistic take on it. A less optimistic take would be that the GOP held on to this seat by the narrowest of margins despite the fact that Trump won it by 11 points in 2016, Romney by 10 points in 2012, and it has elected a Republican congressman for the past three decades. According to one op-ed I read, there are 68 house districts currently held by the GOP that are less consistently red than the 12th Ohio. So if the GOP can only eek out a victory by the narrowest of margins in a thoroughly red district after pumping in millions of dollars and a visit from Trump himself, they could very well lose some of these 68 other districts that are traditionally less red. That said, we will find out in November. After the 2016 election, I am a bit hesitant to prognosticate too much.
  10. Which is really unfortunate. Part of the reason I stick around this thread is to try to get outside my own liberal bubble and talk to people on the right who I like and respect.
  11. Odd, I don't think i have commented much about "collusion" here. My general position has been lets wait and see what the Mueller probe reports. Also, if you can find posts of mine praising Saudi Arabia or Israel, I'll be quite surprised. I would probably be pretty amused if the Trumpster aimed his insults at either of them, I think they have far too much influence on US policy. If you want to talk about influencing US elections, AIPAC make the Russians look like total amateurs. While I would like the US and Russia to have decent relations, I think the goals and long term ambitions of the two countries are fundamentally at odds, meaning relations are never going to be fantastic. Overcoming decades of mistrust is not easy.
  12. Hey, they are the ones saying they hold more kinship with members of a hostile foreign country than their own countrymen of a different political party.
  13. My point is not that everyone should be a Democrat. These fellows have a perfect right to be Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, etc. That's what America is all about. Something they would not be allowed to do in Russia. 30 years ago dudes like these guys were wearing "better dead than red" shirts. My, how times have changed.
  14. I get where you are coming from. I get riled up a bit sometimes, but I'm not here to piss people off or start fights. Always more interested in generating light than heat.
  15. We interpret it differently. Not assuming anything. I'm not calling you anything.
  16. Considering that the face of the Republican party is an orange skinned con-man, this would probably make things fair.
  17. Its a picture of three women, accompanied by quotes of them talking about the importance of more women being part of the political process. How else am I supposed to interpret this?
  18. We tried and orange dude with the worlds weirdest comb-over. Perhaps giving the ladies a chance is not the worst option.
  19. There can't possibly be two separate people with the same weird obsessions of aircraft carrier battleship hybrids and supergavins,
  20. Seems like a good idea to me. Might be more handy than the 30mm gun turrets they are currently putting on Strykers. I would think a 120mm heat round from a mortar would be able to knock out more than just "light armored vehicles" as called for in the LOS requirements in the list Ramlaen posted.
  21. Ok guys, feel free to leave anytime. I'm sure you will have a great time living under Putin.
